Firstly, that show wasn’t about playing live, it was about visually staging the songs into some sort of narrative. 95% of that show is not live. The only parts that are live are the vocals. That’s it…..
All the music was generated live, nothing was on tape.
Nothing was on tape, correct. But the music was not being performed live. Apart from some bits that Scott Davidson and JJ Belle played everything else was pre-programmed and being generated by the banks of sequencers - there wasn’t any people playing those parts, which was most of the music!

But it doesn’t matter, that’s not what that show was about, was it? It was about the whole visual production and the songs! I loved Performance - such a classic show. And miles away from anything they have ever done since! How could you better Performance? You simply couldn’t!
Completely agree!

oakey wrote: Thu 29 Apr 2021, 7:20 pm Dolby Digital or DTS are not lossless formats, so a rip of such a format from a DVD is always lossy. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA are the lossless equivalents but those are not supported by DVD specs (you need a bluray for that).
I was referring to the lossless format I ripped them into - giving me a lossless copy of the DVD audio. You're correct that the audio on the DVDs won't be lossless, but they're still at a bitrate that sounds crystal clear to me. I've never been able to differentiate between CD quality and anything over 192kbps personally - but then I've been to a lot of loud gigs over my many years!

Oh wow!! Wasn’t expecting that! Thanks for the heads up! I can rip from Apple Music then instead of my CDs - much easier!! 😉

Edit: Downloaded the Apple Music files. It sounds fantastic. Neil sounds particularly great on Liberation and To Speak is a Sin - so good to have live versions of these songs now. And the first ever live recording release of Paninaro - Chris sounds good on this! Absolutely loving this. Can’t wait for the DVD/CD to drop through the letterbox today!! Woohoo!!!

Looks great, canveyboy! Have fun! :D
A blues would be in B flat, pain defining wisdom,
but the soul is in the high hat, programmed in the system.

Looks great canveyboy 😎😀 Mine's on its way from the OS. Can't wait to watch it. It's the only concert of theirs that I saw live.

Oh, in what country? Did you experience the same level of energy as in the concert recorded? Do you remember any song not present in this set list? : D

Received notice yesterday: Package on the way. But probaly won't reach me until Monday. It's gonna be a long weekend.
Don't dare to order through the official store... afraid of import fees due to Brexit.
