2019 was a non-album year but still we have 15 tracks released already.

The key is the quality. Agenda is mostly a throwaway, Musik is a side-throwaway, so in fact we have just a couple of new tracks which are released this year just because... the album album is released early next year. I would not praise 2019 more than any previous years where something was delivered to us. Was it a special year? Not all all. They could release each week a new song, just like Underworld did, but there is more than this.

I wouldn't call either release this year throwaway - I was very happy with all of them. Maybe stopgaps, if I had to describe them either way. "On social media", "Soup", "For every moment", "An open mind" are all top notch.

But without too much quality.

In fact, the best tracks are the B-sices: An Open Mind and No Boundaries.
Good songs: On Social Media (very creative video) and Dreamland.

Meh

You could argue 2013 was mostly a busy year for Price doing expansive production work

Agenda is right up there for me.

Low quality?! Are you really PSB fans? One has to find the difference between taste and objectivity. There is no lack of quality regarding these tracks. I may not quite like Soup or one of the Agenda tracks but I have nothing to complain about the quality.

exactly. "Social media" is in my top 10 alltime fav PSB tracks, and IMO the quality is as good as anything they have done writing and production wise.

Quality and personal taste is so often mixed together, unfortunately.

Oh, come on. Someone here told that Neil is elitist.
And now what we have? "My taste is perfect. So if I don't like some music, it means this music is low quality". Double standards.

I'm not a hardcore fan. Agenda is not a good EP on musical terms, except Social Media.

I think their output this year has been very good. Agenda was an unexpected surprise and whilst not entirely top notch, the songs were thematically connected and ranged from danceable pop to ballad via Chumbawumba -esque political satire. I challenge any artist to manage that on a 4 track EP.

Musik was similarly well themed and had some interesting content that was both tongue in cheek and moving.

Dreamland came out of the gates and to me was purely a promotional tool to keep the momentum going. I like it plenty, but the eventual physical release took it up a further notch.

Burning The Heather seems to me more indicative of the direction the album is going and should see us nicely into the New Year with the upcoming physical release and b-side/remix.

How can any self respecting PSB fan complain?!

You've summed everything up perfectly, Gabby. Thank you.

My Guess is that the next next PSB album if any will be produced by Tim Powell and will be exactly in the direction of Agenda, meaning (see it or not) VERY, YES kind of style
