It’s slowly growing on me, a slow ‘burner’ as it were!

Classy and beautiful. Needed something like that, after all the pop songs lately.

This is one of those tracks that I think sound good and have a decent atmosphere and melody to them, but lack that extra punch that would make me go out of my way to listen to them. So I'll probably end up only listening to it during passive listening when it starts playing in the background while doing something else.

With an album title like Hotspot and a Release-style track following Dreamland, I really have no idea what to expect from the rest of the album or the singles and B-sides. Switching on cautious optimism mode.

Lyrics are
You’ve got me all wrong
I'm not that guy
I'm just the singer of the song
in my mind's eye
If I thought what you think
I wouldn't even be here
I’ve just dropped in for a drink
before I disappear

You’ve got me all wrong
There's no one I'm missing
I'm quite happy to be alone
There are no lips I’m kissing
The truth must be the truth
unvarnished in its telling
otherwise it's just hype you hope
people won't notice you're peddling

Autumn is here
and they're burning the heather
Sheepdogs are running
hell for leather
Seasons are changing
Time's moving along
Give me a drink
and I'll be gone

Where did I come from?
Where do I go?
Time is so heartless
You don’t want to know

I set out in the dark
waking from a nightmare
hoping I could find
the middle of nowhere
I'm a stranger in this town
but that's as far as it goes
and where I am bound
no one knows

Autumn is here
and they're burning the heather
Sheepdogs are running
hell for leather
Seasons are changing
Time's moving along
Give me a drink
and I'll be gone

You’ve got me all wrong
That's what I'm sensing
I’m not one of those bread-heads
always pounds, shillings and pence-ing
There’s a few things I need
but I've money for paying
and if you’ve enough room
I’ll consider staying

I wonder if Johnny was busy.

Nice King’s Cross style trumpet flourishes at the end.

What a wonderful song. Here's top hoping that after the career lowlights that were Super and Electric the new album will finally see PSB's return to form. I, for one, would love a Behavior, Release or Elysium part 2.

I strongly expect the album version to be much better than this radio edit though, it seems like the song could use some more room to breathe. I can imagine that once we hear the full version we'll realize that the radio edit doesn't do it justice at all.

If I put a bet on will people’s Release/Elysium PTSD would be triggered after listening to the first 30 seconds of Burning the heather, I’d be a very rich man.

I like this. I’m not expecting the whole album to be like this. Not even Release or Elysium was just one sound. Nice to have an album that isn’t strobes and banging.

Interesting that the lyrics on the official site are very much labelled the “radio edit” - implying the album version has more or different lyrics.

Some are saying this isn't a single? Why not? There's a radio edit and on the Official store it states the album features Dreamland and Burning the Heather. I suspect we'll get physical release details in the next fortnight.

Classy song. This time I expect more that music than Coldplay-esque beachy tracks like "An Open Mind".

It’s just called out as “another of the songs” on the official site and in the email. Dreamland is referred to as a single. It’s the norm to drop individual tracks in the run up to an album release, rather than fully formed singles. I think we can reasonably expect another before the year’s out.

Ok, after a few listens during lunch break I could say that:
- Talking about the melody line, I like the chorus. The verses sound too general and repetitive. They also reminds me of The Forgotten Child.
- The lyrics are very cryptic and interpretative: is the autumn portrayed a phase of life? A feeling? Is he a stranger to love? Some passages remember me again of The Forgotten Child
- I like the chord change of the chorus, it sounds new to the PSB, I also like the guitar, but I find the production (I mean the arrangement part not the mastering part) general Pop.

So IMHO it is a good album track, nothing more and nothing less.

I love this. its so warm sounding and wonderfully produced. as far as the tracklist, yes there are a few un-PSB song titles, but there has never been a album release where I didnt just absolutely love at least 4 songs and play them to death endlessly so I am not even worried at all, plus keep in mind with B-sides we will be getting essentially 2 albums.
