Electric was a masterpiece but Super was just fun. However it seems like they had a clear idea for the 3rd Price-produced album, keeping songs for it and stuff. I'm guessing it will be an "after the party" concept album. Can't wait!

Keep Stuart Price producing the albums and all the dreary chaff can go on the b-sides (I’m kidding of course).
That said I think this will be the strongest three albums in a row, just love the formula. Dance music first, everything else second. Suits me.

Price isn't the problem. He's produced some great stuff over the years. Interestingly, his best has been when the band/artists in question have written their best stuff. Electric and Super were enjoyable but by no means Neil and Chris' best writing. I'm hoping for a more conventional style of album with 10-12 songs, not the longer often instrumental types. As for the writing 21 songs. They always write lots of songs and pick the best/most appropriate for the album. They already have songs left over from the Super recording sessions, some of which were "up" ( ie sound as though they come from Very) and some which were much more dark, moody and ballard like. It'll be interesting to see which way they go. Knowing them, they'll surprise us with something totally new. Which we'll enjoy deconstructing all the more.

I have to keep my mobile phone out from transvestite thieves for the new album.

Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

I'm happy for them to finish the trilogy.
Fundy->Yes->Elysium->Electric is such a strong run of albums.
The trilogy will be terrific too. Super is fun, but hopefully the next will be something different again.

But...but.....are we sure we are getting a new studio album? we've had back to back to back studio albums...I'm worried the most dreaded form of musical CD could rear its head at any moment...its sitting there in the darkness waiting quietly, coiled and ready to strike without warning, leaving nothing but pain and sorrow in its wake. yes, I'm talking about a PSB live album.
Re: In the studio: 21 songs for the new album so far
For me, the sooner Price gets out of the way, the better. The news that they were going for a trilogy with him at such an advanced stage of their career was devastating. I hope there’s room for something else after that.

People are so melodramatic. Do you guys seriously prefer the smug Brian Higgins who just transplanted his Xeno/Girls Aloud on them, mostly unsuccessfully, over someone who grew up a fan and who knows their music by heart, to the point of knowing exactly what works for them and even emulating it perfectly... Seriously?
Re: In the studio: 21 songs for the new album so far
Yes. I was not impressed by the last two albums and I look forward to a change of direction with the third one of the trilogy, but am not overly optimistic. As for Higgins, he might be a smug but what I think is their best song in 10 years (The way it used to be) is co-written with him. My opinions, of course.
Re: In the studio: 21 songs for the new album so far
Yes is a fantastic album. Produced their last hit single, lots of wonderful songs. The way it used to be is up there with the best of them.
This is a song about boys and girls. You hear it playing all over the world.

I don't know what else they can experiment with Price other than a slower album or a vapid Killers-like lite rock thing. Super was already more pop than Electric, thus saying they're making a pop album feels somewhat generic - unless it means they're doing acoustic pop, which looks unlikely with Price at the helm. I just hope they don't get in autopilot mode like they did the last time.

Did Price have anything at all to do with Brick England? PSB at their best. Also, Dicatator, Bourgeois, Flourescent and Vocal could be argued are four of the best songs of PSB's modern era.
Price has done well.
