63-68 The Beatles knocked out some awesome records. The Boy Band guff is poor and i'm not keen on the more rock-styled songs but most cd1 of 67-70 is nigh on perfect.

Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, Get Back, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, Lady Madonna, Fool on the Hill, Eleanor Rigby, Paperback Writer, Blackbird, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine, A Day in the Life, I am the Walrus, Hello Goodbye.

Some amazing pop records there.

It was mentioned above how Elvis, Beatles and Kraftwerk heavily influenced bands. Thats true but ive never seen the big deal with Kraftwerk. They just sound like they've dropped the cutlery tray in half their songs.

Not as good as Wings, who are the band The Beatles could have been.

I quite like "Magical Mystery Tour", which is generally dismissed as rubbish. On the other hand I've never seen the appeal of "Sgt. Pepper's", I find it really contrived and cheesy.

Indeed it is. It is the only Beatles CD I own, last time I listened to it was probably two weeks after I bought it in 1992 or so. The Beatles is just not my thing.
