PSB Early Gigs

#1 Post by York Minster »

I'm wondering if anyone knows the full tracklist of what they played at their first gig at Brixton Fridge? Did they play early Bobby O versions of songs like I Get Excited? Also curious as to what they played at ICA the next year in 85.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'

Thanks! I was right about I Get Excited then. Would be amazing to see video of it all.

Especially cool would be seeing Chris play the trombone on I Want A Lover on ICA. I wouldn't mind seeing the Max Headroom interview either. These are missing gems.

Interesting commentary from Blue Weaver: http://blueweaver.com/blog/?p=187

The link doesn't work anymore but apparently they played six tracks at the Brixton Fridge, according to the Literally book.

One More Chance
I Get Excited (You Get Excited Too)
Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)
Later Tonight
West End Girls
Rent

Which means there must be recordings of "master quality" of all these songs, not just OMC and West End girls. I want these on an album SOON!

Go and buy Introspective, Please and Actually and you'll have them.

If there is any audio of this floating around it will possibly be released on a final box set. I’m also hoping that the heaven gig back in 1991 will be released as I remember the computers crashing and Chris laughing about it. Also barfly gig and one off shows that may have been filmed. I’m sure someone will have a list of gigs that don’t have decent audio.

There was a video clip on this when they appeared on a uk tv show called going live and as part of their video intro there was a clip of the actual gig with Neil saying we could have actually have planned that. I’ve got this on a dvd that I recorded from vhs. No idea how to put it online. Thank you Old Soak for putting the link up for the vinyl I have of that gig. It was an amazing night, going to see Edward II first and then off to heaven.

I think the heaven gig was the only time they played the original version of was it worth it? I really hope they do play more gigs like that in the future. I know they are going to play Camden at some point in the future. I really hope there is some video of the gig at the Mayan gig as it sounded like an amazing atmosphere.

They played Was it worth it with the long bridge of the 12" at the Haçienda gig in 1992.

These little concerts are awesome. There were so many obscurities they played.
