I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

What is for you better? I will choose Elysium , more PSB sound.

I voted for Electric even though it isn't without its problems (Bolshy can try my patience with its repetition, Shouting in the Evening gets skipped over most of the time, and Thursday has those perplexingly quiet vocals in the verses.) Elysium is just too tainted by several weak tracks to win this...
I've seen a few fans on various sites say they feel that Electric Tour is inferior to Pandemonium tour, so I felt it'd be interesting to try and generate a bit of discussion about it.
Personally I have to agree with those that feel Electric isn't quite as good as Pandemonium. I never attended...

Seen Pandy live three times (and numerous times on DVD)
Seen Electric live twice
Electric very good very but Pandy wins for me for variety.
Now that we've had some time to listen to the new record and let it all sink in, I'd like to ask the following question: imagine you'd have to rank the 12 PSB studio albums from best to worst - where would you rank Electric , with 1 being the best PSB studio album ever and 12 being the worst PSB...

I've probably spent far too much time thinking about this...
1. Introspective
2. Very
3. Actually
4. Yes
5. Behavior
6. Please
7. Electric
8. Fundamental
9. Nightlife
10. Elysium
11. Bilingual
12. Release
I'd probably put the first 2/3 of Disco 3 before Elysium too...
This song was single material , it's a clear anthemic song from PSB. In my opinion, it would have been a clear opening track . Being Can you forgive her? a mid-tempo song, yes it's banging but it's not a really fast song, the second track of the album.
Shameless describes perfectly the vein of...

Shameless is a great song but I don't think it works as an opener to Very .
However, on my ipod I've made a special edit which features Shameless, Too Many People and Hey, Headmaster. I think these three tracks are better than One and One Make Five, One in a Million and Go West; that being said,...
I think there is no doubt the most representative PSB songs are:
West End Girls :
Number 1 in: New Zeland, Norway, Canada, UK and USA.
Best Single at The BRIT Awards
Best International Hit at the Ivor Novello Awards
Ivor Novello Award for Song of The Decade between the years 1985 and 1994...
It never was released but it was going to be the first single from Fundamental. I don't know why BBC wanted to censure the track. The song was played on BBC's Radio 2 twice. IMHO, it could have been a real hit.
Listen here the single version of it:

At the end I'm with stupid was #8...

Didn't they originally announce that Minimal was going to be the first single?
Yes, they did.
Minimal was considered to be the 1st single.
It's difficult, really difficult to choose the best PSB song but well, I think we can have a fun time trying to know the VERY best from PSB. So I have chosen those ones that I think are the most important tracks of its career in order to choose the best one.
According to the review of LG Arena concert:
And while the new songs and B-sides may have failed to get the heart beating, smash hits like It’s A Sin, Domino Dancing and Always Dancing certainly did ,
The songs kept coming, but there was a sense the crowd was waiting for the big hits, no matter...

Deep cuts are essential at gigs. If it's hits only, it's simply pointless to ever attend a second gig.
Fugitive , Integral , I'm not scared , Axis ... all would be missed from the current setlist.
The resurrectionist would be a great addition in a future setlist. As would After the event ....
As all of you know, Pet Shop Boys have never won any Grammy awards, but have received a total of six nominations:
Best Dance/Electronica Album: Fundamental and Yes
Best Dance/Electronica Recording: To Step Aside and I'm With Stupid
Best Recording Package: Very Relentless and Release
On 6...

Actually, I suspect the Pet Shop Boys weren't nominated in any category this time around may not be so much their non-entity status in the U.S. -- since they are *very* much an entity in the U.S. dance market -- but rather on account of them now being indie artists. I watched a report recently...
That's interesting. Axis is out and so is Thursday . Its the final round. Three choices left. Still vote for your two least favourite tracks. THREE days to do it. Used to be two but I've decided to give people a little more time to decide. Once you vote it cannot be changed. Its down...

The best two songs are one and two. No surprise there. I didn't think Vocal would be third though.
Close one last time. Love is a bourgeois construct looked to be out at round 2 but saved by the bell, The last to die and Inside a dream loses in round 2.
Five tracks left. Two days to vote for two of your least favourite. Get going.

Fluorescent is the sort of song that non-fans probably think they should be making, but aren;t, when of course they are!
Shouting in the evening and Bolshy are out. We have seven left. This is where it begins to get genuinely interesting. Get voting for two of your least favourites from the list above. Thanks!

Round 1: Shouting in the evening (36), Bolshy (29)
Its almost the end of 2013. The end of a very good couple of years for PSB and its fans. To celebrate the charting of Thursday in the top 75, lets put Electric's tracks under a bit of scrutiny 4 months after release. I thought even before this album came out and it was leaked I predicted that the...

What I'm concerned is that this whole challenge could end with Electric being the third album in a row after Yes and Elysium where track 1 is the overall strongest link.
Here's an idea for the iTunes review, make track 1 a 30-second silent Easter Egg , that way it couldn't win.
Over the last few months I'm convinced more and more people are joining the commercial effect club hoping for PSB to have another singles chart hit like it was in the mid 2000s. Thursday this, Thursday that, Love is a bourgeois construct ? Are you kidding? It'll kill all their chances . I want to...

Since TOTP was cancelled I dont think anyone gives a sh!t about chart results or whats number 1 anymore .
I know it's a very frivolous posts. I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing , even more when I am a straight guy, but the reason I created this post is because I think people prefer Neil to Chris because of his personality and because he is the singer of the duo , not because he is more...

By the way, don't you think it's quite difficult for most of us to answer that question? Who of us have been so close to the Boys to really judge who is physically more attractive? :P The idea, I guess, comes more from videos and pictures than real life. I have met them (outside of the concerts)...
Apart from the Alan Turing project, theorically the new PSB album should be just the opposite from the previous one ( Electric ). So we should expect frome PSB a new slow album. I'm saying theorically.
The problem here is I think PSB are much attractive for general public and fans when they create...

If life has taught me anything, it is to expect the un-expected. With all this talk about a trilogy and arty projects, they could just surprise us and walk away.
Well, you can wait till the next week to listen to it on cd but maybe some of you could give your veredict right now. The album is on stream.
You can add your own review.
Axis: A really good opener, it reminds a bit to Krawftwerk but much better. Building a track you can listen to it before you...

I wonder if people are rating this album so high as a backlash to the disappointment of Elysium. I can tell you I've played the album for a couple of pretty big PSB fans and all were less than enthusiastic about it. Some good, some rubbish, not even close to their classics.
It is such an orgasmic experience to listen to them back to back:)
*eargasmic  Nothing beats the real deal!
Anyway, I've become a follower in 2011 (I suddenly felt the urge to watch the Love Etc. video and there was no turning back since that) and by the time of Elysium I knew about...
In my view, they have taken a potentially amazing track, which sounded fantastic both live and as an instrumental, and completely messed up the single mix in an almost amateurish and hopelessly self-defeating manner.
I rank it as one of their biggest errors, because it was so easy to...

Geowayne.com has listed the album mix and single mix as identical (both 6:34).
I guess he's done this because the album mix is track #1 on the forthcoming CD-single release (29 July).
Its the best of the best. The two gladiators up against each other. Which one will it be? You decide. Vote for the one you least prefer.
Round 1 = Inside (35), The way through the woods/Baby (24)
Round 2 = I started a joke (33), Hell (22)
Round 3 = Listening (50), One night (34)

Hope people read the question and voted for Je Ne Sais because they think it's their LEAST favourite, not their FAVOURITE. Anyway, I like Je Ne Sais more than In His Imagination because I first listened to it in better circumstances than IHI and that's why I have fonder memories of it. IHI reminds...
I bit of a tight one in the results for Round 2. The Bee Gees cover I started a joke , and Hell both eliminated, although it was close to being a 3 way tie.
Four tracks left. Vote for your two least favourites.
Okay, so we've had Axis (sort of) and current single Vocal, but which two of the remaining seven Electric tracks do you think has the best singles potential in either it's current or a radio edit form?

Why choose? Send a each track to one or two remixers and then release a special edition remix album.
You are seeing that right. We lost THREE tracks instead of two in the last round because of a two-way tight between the second most number of votes. As well as Inside getting the majority, Baby and The way through the woods both get the chop. Shame I loved that latter track.
Last time we lost Breathing space and Requiem in denim and leopardskin . We're down to four songs.
Vote for your two least favourite tracks. Votes are locked in after being cast. If there's a tie in the results which three tracks get the most votes, this would be the...
Credit to ahafan02 for the idea of the Survivor Challenge .
I like the idea of the sort of Weakest Link type poll and I think now that an ample amount of time has past since Elysium was released, I thought just for fun we can continue the Survivor Challenge for Elysium. Who knows it might produce...

Would have voted for Invisible and Your Early Stuff, went with Ego Music instead of Invisible. Why hasn't the administrator increased the maximum number of poll options yet?
In the wake of misunderstandings about Electric on this forum I'm just interested in how many of you have given in and downloaded the leak, just so we make a statistic of sorts, if we're bolshy or not (in quantity) :P

I am going to order Electric 15 july, Monday. Will it help them to be higher in the UK charts? Should I order CD and Vinyl only after it will be released to help them with charts?
I'm tempted though, for the first time evah. My main gripe had always been marred quality of snippets and the build-up of the anticipation that get your juices flowing à la Pavlov's dogs. Not to mention the febrile excitation in sniffing, gazing longingly at, then 'ripping' the sacred packaging....
Pointy hats again (in the teaser) and a danceable album. Elysium was like Behaviour in many things (the slow and drama part of PSB) and now Electric could be like Very (the fast and funny part of PSB).

hmmm good idea. Foir me the sound is simmilaar. But I'd rather Very .....
