I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...
It's not a question about piracy, it's about wanting to listen to these tracks. Today I purchased the DVD at a shop in Barcelona. In my PC, I can play the DVD but, except for the menu, no sounds come out from the speakers (while all my other DVDs play just fine), so I want to rip the VOB files into...

Thanks for the info Alfonso! I just used it this weekend to get MP3s of Cubism, Montage, Performance and a New Order dvd. Cubism has the best audio quality imo.
Does anyone know if or when it will be released here in Canada? I went to HMV on the 25th of july and they said its not even in their system. I have waited long enough!!
dVTB's topic on which unreleased songs should be Disco 4 candidates made me wonder how these demos actually end up 'on the street'. Are they leaked deliberately, stolen, secretly copied? Do any of you know? I just think it's a bit strange that demos from their private collection find their way onto...

anyone here, who can help me with these both bootlegs:
- where are they coming from?
- are those CDs or CD-Rs?
- is there any cat# on disc or sleeves?
HMV locally had a copy for $17.99. Only one, but it is a small HMV store.
I would think it would mean most small HMV's have at least one.
Overall I enjoyed it, but I did not see Flamboyant listed on the extras.

My NTSC version does not include Flamboyant, but some other NTSC versions do. Just the other day I was with a friend at a record shop and I saw an NTSC copy very different form the one I have, something tells me that one does include Flamboyant . Just need to go back and find out.
Maybe Gardner has more info, but I came across this on ebay this week .....
I've done the usual searches but I can't find any other reference to this release of Fundamental. The XRCD sites don't list it either.
If it's genuine then it could be a nice item to have but I suspect a fake.

Typical bootleg from China (note the Simplified Chinese characters on the cover).
Taiwan don't do this kind of fake anymore, and they use Traditional Chinese characters.
I saw this in Brighton at weekend, they had 2 copies, I bought one, but it was only £4, so if anyone wants to snap up a real bargin its very likely to still be there. It is the great 2nd hand record shop on Traflagar street, in the lanes. Had quite a few other PSB stuff in there, left to my own...
Amazon is listing 2 different versions of Disco 3 , one released in 2003 and the other in 2004 with very different pricing (the one from 2004 being far more expensive). Unfortunately they aren't telling, which songs are on the 2004 release. So what's the difference? Are there more songs on the 2004...

According to Gardner's PSB discog, there were several runs of the UK Disco 3, as there were errors with audible glitches and incorrect barcodes. That might have something to do with it...
In a recent thread I had to ask the definition of a B-side.
My sincere thanks to Ronald and Eldritch for explaining.
I became a bit interested in what the B-side were.
Here to pay for my sins ...

Please, let me know any mistakes.

Twentieth Century Blues was first released in April 98 and Psycho soundtrack in November the same year (though the mix is slightly different from the b-side version released the following July)
I'm driving myself mad trying to find the demo version sung by Neil in my CD collection. I know I had this and a bunch of other CTH demos in my collection, but I can't find them! Was this ever on a commercial release? Or just bootleg/demo cd? Either way, I know I owned this. I haven't looked for it...

Sorry to have to be the party popper, but Eric is right. This thread is against forum rules, so I will close it and ask that any requesting of copyrighted material be done off forum. Thanks! :)
and I wonder if it's worth to buy? I still haven't got the Release album , so does it make sense to buy this instead of the cheaper 1 cd release of this album?
Also: Is this a FL release like the ones of Behaviour or Very or like Fundamentalism an additional release...

I got it for 12 euros plus 3 euros postage, I guess this is an ok price?!?!
Good price for sure, well done
Can anyone tell me whether the version of It's A Sin on the recent Popjustice album is the version they played on Parkinson a few years ago?
If it is, any idea if it's available to buy without buying the PJ album? - I notice it's not on ITunes.
Cheers,
Roy.

Not fair. I don't want to pay EUR20 for a CD full of cr^p songs I don't want just to get the barfly version
20 EUR? I got mine from eBay for 6 UKP (incl. shipping from the UK to the Czech Rep.) last November.
Not much has been said about this little gem. I think Relentless is pure dance pop.
I probably sound selfish here but i like the fact that Relentless hasn't seen the light of day, re release wise, but then again is it fair to deprive people of such an immaculate collection of music ?

I remember buying a brand new un-opened copy from my local WHSmiths a couple of years ago !
They were having a clear out of their store room and because there was no empty case or insert to go out onto the shop floor, it had sat on their store room shelf for over 10 years !...
As I am quiete new I don't know very muchabout the history of the songs,, but I'm sure you know! So what about Fugitive ? On Fundamentalism there's only a remix of this song (a very good one imo) so where is the original version released or does only the remix on Fundamentalism exist?
Last post
I assume they gave their demo to Richard X and he turned in the extended mix, instrumental and the 7 inch mix. Of the 3, the extended mix was used for Fundamentalism.
There are no assumptions to be made here. You're correct. I have heard both the demo and the 7 inch mix by Richard X. All that...
Just come across the brilliant video for this song on Youtube.
Can anyone tell me who the (rather cute) lead actor is in this video ? (ie the one who plays the bored teenager who goes to explore the city) Did he go on to do anything else ?

Is it the 4:18 version which can be found on Alternative or is it 4:09 version whcih can be found on Further listening 1984-1986???
On West End girls section on www.psb-discography.com it says it is the 4:18 Alternative version , but on the re-issued back catalog section it says that version on FL...
Singysingysingy's thread got me thinking about the promised (but seemingly long forgotten) reissue of Nightlife. What do you think will be on the Further Listening disc? Obviously we have:
The Ghost of Myself

Silver Age
Screaming
So what ELSE do you think will be on...

As we all know, the Pet Shop Boys have never really been into promoting their products as much as other artists or groups and this could be seen as being good (let the music do the talking) or being bad (Could they be selling more if they had/do?).
What with the new promo for the forthcoming DVD...

I was on YouTube a few minutes ago & ran across something I'd never heard of - Reputation The Videos.

What a shame that EMI/Parlophone decided drop Dusty and not to do a follow up to Reputation.
Those of you who have a lot of PSB CDs, please tell me what kind of packaging do the 2001 reissues have? No comparisons to the original CDs, though, as I haven't seen many of those either yet. I'm thinking of buying the new version of 'Very' and wanted to know about how it physically looks like -...

I have bought 'Very' Further listening. It's brilliant! The booklet is a great example of how CD booklets should look like. And the songs on the bonus CD are mostly so good that you could build an album out of those alone! I love Falling and Too many people and especially Shameless .
I came up with a list of my fave 500 singles 1975 to 2005. PSB feature prominently. Thought some fans might be interested?
# 415- Left To My Own Devices
# 392- Domino Dancing (Alternate version)
# 331- Patience Of A Saint- Electronic et al
# 314- DJ Culture
# 306- You Only Tell Me You Love Me...

Oops, you might be right. 500 was a lot. To be honest with you, much of the time, they were singles in Europe and the UK, and less frequently in Australia. For some reason I thought patience was a single. Thanks!!
can somebody tell me where I can find good quality & reasonable size pics of PSB sleeves, not acetats
I've tried Discogs and Andmaste's sites but quality and size of sleeves varies there and many are in acetat form
Why is there 2 covers for cubism? One with Chris in yellow facing away and one with the military uniform, like the S+G show. Is it how they would package according to region? or thi is front and back?

I won't buy two copies. I will simply buy whatever copy I get my hands on. I have no preference for a dvd with Neil or Chris sleeve.
just a new topic for all, who aren't familiar with special things on eBay... Hope I can keep up this for the future. If any other of you see similar things there - don't hesitate and INN HERE!

Oooops, didn't noticed the very same topic here which was started by Greg and became sticky status.
Just noticed the discography at the offical site lists 'She's Madonna' as one of the Pet Shop Boys singles, which is quite interesting - I kind of thought of this as a Robbie Williams track, despite its 'with the Pet Shop Boys' tag.
Isn't this a bit like saying Liza Minelli's 'Losing My Mind' is...

It's my strong belief that She's Madonna did NOT do poor in the UK charts because people don't like Robbie's change of style, or because the song itself is too weak. The chart results in many European countries, such as The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium prove that. The poor UK-result of She's...
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I noticed that you can download the Nightlife album, with a bunch of bonus tracks (23 tracks in all for $13.99), from the US iTunes store.
The copyright says 2006 Rhino

Are there any plans to release the DiscoVery tour video on DVD? It's a wonderful show and sounds great. The only thing I don't like is that the camera concentrates too much on the dancers instead of Neil and Chris.
Does anyone know a website where I can get a list of all performances that PSB ever had on Top of the Pops? There are a lot of sites about TOTP, but I haven't found one that would have lists (or a search option) by the artist.

Why is it only EMI in Japan who release a mini CD album when Pet Shop Boys tour in Japan ?

My god, people really don't have ears. The album version of A Red Letter Day is one of the most HORRIBLE sounding productions on a PSB album ever, right behind Here . Neil's vocals are way too loud and dry. There's no LIFE in the song at all. It just sounds flaccid and boring.
I realise that asking for copyrighted material is a no no on here so I apologise if this is out of order. I’m after the My Night extended version that was given away free on the PSB website a few years ago. Unfortunately, my old hard disk crashed some time ago losing my only copy of the extended...
I read that PSB did a collaboration with Boy George back in 92 called the Crying game. Has anyone heard it, (yes) how is it? Neil vocals. I like to get my hands on this track if its worth it.
