I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...
Was just reading this here. Some of it I have heard before, but some of it seems new:
Pet Shop Boys
It Always Comes As A Surprise
Discoteca
Closer To Heaven
London
Pandamonium .
The Sodom And Gommorah Show
Happiness Is An Option
Also, I cannot remember if I have mentioned this...

I enjoy the I'm With Stupid video, however I think it would've been better if they 'spoofed' other PSB eras besides the Very era and its looks/videos. Always thought that.
There isn't much else to spoof. The only other era with a unique look is the blond hair and big ol' eyebrows of Nightlife....
Hi - I was hoping somebody may be able to ID a version of West End Girls heard in the following mix please (starts around 1:22:45 and plays until the end)
Shazam says Bobby O mix but isn't right, tried everything I can find on here : but no luck
Isn't on here either:
Asked DJ on social media...

It's the Bobby O version with some shit added. Not very good.
Hi i want to ask Pet Shop Boys fans about I'm not scared tv performances how many times they performed this song on public tv i know about Jovanotti 1988 when they played Domino Dancing too. Is there was more or this was played only once ?

Wow that must have been great ! :D i read about this countdown archive and they have 3000 videos but they send them only for clients, tv's etc. not for normal people. I searched their archive by pet shop on the site you posted and it shows three song like you said. I hope that one day they will...
I'm new to the list, but have liked PSB on and off since the 85 release of West End girls. I wanted to tell you all about the very rare mispressed 10 of It's Alright that I have put up for sale on eBay.
According to TheGardner, this is only the second copy of the mispressed 10 that has come to his...
I am working on some silly hobby project, which will probably never be finished, but for this I need the font that is used for the Literally magazines. I tried Bembo Book W04, which is used on the PSB website, but it's not quite the same. Does anyone know?

Times New Roman if its the magazine you are talking about....
I am watching the It Couldn't Happen Here Laserdisc for the first time, and the whole thing is playing like a slow tape! Has anyone else had this problem with the laserdisc? I watched Performance on LD last night and it was fine.
I haven't watched the movie in full since the 90s. Hasn't improved...
Hi all,
I've just joined the forum and hope to have some good chats with fellow Pet Shop Boys fans. My name is Tatiana and I'm from Latvia, Riga. For a long time I was searching the way to contact The Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant, because their music and songs still play a main part in my life. It'...
I'm listening to the Tomcraft mixes of In Private for the first time today. What kind of horrible mess of drugs was this guy on? Has anyone else heard them?
Last post
E-smoove: No.
But I love all the Tomcraft mixes. I also seem to be one of the few folks that like the Elton versions of In Private. For some reason the cheese factor doesn't bother me.
I remember reading in an article that Neil went to school with Sting.
Does anyone know if that's true? I guess they're both from Newcastle, and about the same age....

Sting was two years above Neil at St Cuthberts. Jimmy Nail would have been in the same year as Neil at St Cuthberts had he passed his 11 plus, however he failed it and attended the Catholic secondary modern school instead.
Hi, after seeing the boys perform at NYE I remembered a version of Go West that I thought I had on my Discography or Disco 2 CDs but it's not. I'm sure I'm not imagining the version...it was just like a normal version of the song until it was about to end when it goes into a dance or disco version...

Sounds like the original 1992 version. The 12 mix of this is on the further listening disc of the Very re-issue
Was watching Cold Case on CBS here in the U.S. on Saturday late night or early Sunday morning, was at 12:35 am.
The episode started at a 1988 high school graduation party at a High School.
Started from the very beginning of Always and they played about 2/3s of the song straight and very loud...

Wow how did you find that?
After King David died, God asked me what one thing I wanted, and I told him the amazing powers of Google. And he said good, you didn't ask for riches or women, so I'll give you those too. So you might see a little less of ole' FoF around here with all the fun I'm a...
Zaha Hadid - who designed some elements of the Nightlife tour - was recently named to Time magazine's Most Influential People 2010 list. She is named at #76 (right after James Cameron) and appeared as #1 in the category of Thinkers.
Here's a link with the article on Hadid:

I assume that Michael Winner's cracked the top fifty then.
Remix Service mixes often suck, but Direct Hit did a good mix of Go West back in the day. I can even remember specifically hearing this mix on the radio a few times and wondering where the hell it came from. Eventually I found out it was from this Direct Hit compilation, which now seems...

The PSBP was definitely set up prior to the release of the 1993 material. I think it took place between Introspective and Behaviour, judging by the various copyright details on the album artwork. It coincided with the termination of their relationship with Tom Watkins, didn't it? Which makes it...
I heard another PSB song in public today. It's a rarity. At the gym they played the Ralphi Radio Edit of Did you see me coming?. And I must say, it fit right in with the total crap awful dance remixes they usually play. Neil's voice over a bouncy thin beat doesn't do much for me. If I didn't know any other PSB...

That is awesome. I kind of always assumed they got a lot more airplay in the UK than the US. And of course they do in terms of interviews and special concerts and such. But I hear of many new fans who until recently didn't know many of the classics or it was Flamboyant or Robbie who got them into...
Did anyone go to the show where they performed these?
What kind of beats did the songs have? Were they dance versions? Just wondering.

It's Not Unusual, 16 Going on 17 and Climb Every Mountain
... and also Do Anything You Wanna Do - are there only audio recordings of these songs floating around (which I've never heard :() or did someone film the performances? (*hint* youtube *hint*)
Some may well suggest Neil Tennant doesn’t have a great voice, so bringing in Dusty Springfield for What Have I Done to Deserve This? made perfect sense — and, as with the Eurythmics track, Pet Shop Boys swapped soul for sales, resurrecting Springfield’s career. The duo had spent a...

That also could explain why Confidential sounded so half-hearted on both PSB and Tina's side...
In the Very Remastered book notes, Neil talks about how Tina expected to get a It's A Sin type rocker. Neil thinks about this and says it could have been interesting....uh, hell yeah! But even though I...
Does anyone know, what gear Chris is running at the moment?
I know he has a Moog, and I think he is playing a Korg PA2XPRO, as his main on stage keyboard. But I think he is also using a Kaossilator Pro ??? during some of the songs, he uses this ( i think) to flange the drums.
Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe are surprised to have been chosen as the recipients of the Brits’ outstanding contribution to music award, due to be presented this Wednesday. But after 25 years, 22 Top 10 singles and 12 Top 10 albums, who better than the Pet Shop Boys?
Has anyone heard or read who the director of the I'm with Stupid video is? It's odd that in all of the official statements that I've read so far about it there's been no mention of the director. Or maybe I've just missed it.
Almost made this into a poll, but that would be taking it too far...
So, does the mighty Peter Hook actually play on Minimal (he has DJed with the PSB in recent years), or is Chris playing a Hookyesque sample; or perhaps is Trevor Horn playing the bass (or maybe Neil, he did play bass on...

I'm so sure that is Peter Hook...Too New Order! 8)
Does anyone have a scan perhaps of this item, I didnt know it existed until doing a check just now, still unsure about it and have never seen it for sale anywhere......

what is the proper way of knowing? ? ? ? ? ?
IMO: if 1 shows up, it exists. So far: it doesn't.
i was wondering, how many instrumentals of their songs are available
I assume there are many of them and they may not all be official - but they're all appreciated!
can we find ''Flamboyant'' or IDGWIAT instrumental anywhere?
I'd like to find as many as I can and then record my vocals over it -...

yeh there was weren't there - i swear?
shopping - i heard a demo instrumental on win mx once!
Unlike others DJCulture releases I own, just noticed today
there is also a Djculture/MusicForBoys title thing...
does it qualifies as double A side?

EMI in the USA weren't very keen on DjCulture and asked for a remix of West End girls to promote Discography, this was the Sasha mix. Whilst all this was going on though they heard Music For Boys, liked it and so it was released alongside DjCulture to push Discography, effectively I suppose it is a double...
Hope this post is in the right place! Many apologies if it's not.
I re-joined the PSB fan club last year (around this time I think) after a few years absence. Therefore I presume my yearly membership is up soon.
Will they write to me to advise renewal details or do I have to contact...

Can't wait for the next issue of Literally now to see if it has the t-shirt and instructions. Just hope the t-shirt fits ok! I will look rather amusing in a tight pink PSB t-shirt wandering round town to get my copy of the album :!:
If that happens to be Hounslow town centre....I might see you...
I have many years wondered if it's really true that this CD promo
(EMI Sweden; CDPRO-4137) was only pressed in 5 copies.
Now I know for sure it's pressed in 100x and that's because I contacted EMI sweden and asked if they had any archive how many pressings made of their records.
And as you...

The story with the Introspective clear 3x12 was that Esprit got 10 copies all at once and the seller said they were in the warehouse ready to be dumped. But, just because Esprit got 10 copies, doesn't mean they were the only copies.
I'm very impressed with how quick the renewal was. I had my renewal slip from Literally 28 but hadn't bothered to renew until I knew #29 was being posted.
I sent off my form last Monday and received the new edition today, plus the PSB 'Release' tour scarf and keyring. The fan club are apparently...

It's written in my renewal form they will send the 'ripper' wallet.
This is probably very old news indeed, but the original Bobby O produced version of One More Chance is availble on CD -- for the first time officially, to the best of my knowledge -- on the Spanish I Love Bobby O comp. released by Blanco Y Negro ... last year? I'm not sure when it was released....
Does someone know a baby from the It's Alright video ?
They must be 16 years old now. Maybe someone of this forum ? Maybe, you are a parent of one of these children ?
It's a beautiful video. I'm interested what they do now and how the parents were found to give their baby's to Neil & Chris.

It's all the same woman - Neil has talked about her a fair bit. She was interviewed in the Annually book - she and Neil have known each other since they were 14 or so. Anyway, Krysia is an extremely unusual name in the UK!
They had a relationship. And it was rumoured at the time Eugene was Neil´s...
