I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...
Please post times, dates, channels, etc here so forum users don't miss out.
Please try not to drift into conversation in this thread as key posts may get missed.

2 mentions of the PSB on an episode with Es Devlin, from a documentary series called Abstract on Netflix.
I wonder if Es’ career or reputation have taken a hit considering she designed the original Adele Las Vegas show which Adele hated and consequently fired Es! 😎
Introspective was perhaps too different/difficult as a follow up to the hugely succesful Actually, at least in the US, if traditional PSB-lore is to be believed. A more straightforward 10-track album could've been the solution. So here is the 10-track, US-version of Introspective. Three tracks are...

It’s interesting that a number of years ago a series of white label US 7” promos were discovered of edits of all six “Introspective” tracks. It seems EMI in the US may have very well considered a different configuration of “Introspective” for the US market after all. The edits seem to be...
Last summer I bought tickets to see Dreamworld again on June 17 at Wembley Arena. Given this, I wanted to open this thread as I have some questions that could be interesting both for me and for those of us who are going to attend and I think we could discuss them here.
Wembley...

How long does it take from West Hampstead to Wembley Arena?
25 mins.
15 mins from West Hampstead to actually leaving Wembley Park Station.
And then a 10 min walk to the Arena, along Empire Way as Olympic Way is likely to be rammed full of kids.
I have a few scrapbooks from my early years of fandom which I used to archive magazine and newspaper cuttings. Smash Hits particularly. Many of these will have already found their way online since, but I thought I would start to share some bits and pieces here in case there is anything of interest...

Great tales, Dog. Sounds like the sort of internship/entry level job I would have killed to have!
I’ve taken the liberty of starting a new thread to help us separate chat about the new EP.
I’ve spent a bit of time re-reading the 2016 edition of Literally. There was obviously unfinished business from the Super songwriting sessions. First, there was the mooted “dark techno” album which...

wasn't Burning The Heather a little too similar to a Euro track? Might influence the decision, but I might have it the wrong way around
There's a movie coming out called 'Pet Shop Boys'. Totally unrelated to N&C so I'm surprised they can use that name, wouldn't there be some copyright/trademark issue?
Movie summary:
Follows the affair between the impulsive Alejandro and the college-age pet store employee Jack, exploring the...

Okay, preordered mine. Cost a whopping $131 Australian dollars for 2 copies. A bit ridiculous.
I'm trying to order mine, after a few days back and forth with their support about not being able to log into my account or create a new one for that matter.
I'm checking out as a guest.
It's charging...
The track listing for Noel Gallagher's upcoming new album, Council Skies has leaked and there's a PSB 12 remix of a track called Think Of A Number.. Screenshot_20230117-075422.png
I seem to recall reading somewhere that they had been working on a remix for someone, this looks like the result....
An article on how Disco 3 (possibly) saved Pet Shop Boys after Release.
I cannot believe it's 20 years.
Last post
I listened to Disco 3 yesterday for the first time in a very long time. I’m sorry to say that it hasn’t aged well. For me it’s blighted by the heavily processed vocals.
Best tracks are Somebody Else’s Business and the Genuine Piano mix of London, although the latter is an odd inclusion for an...
Sorry guys, this link comes from the Bilingual promotion thread. But I think it deserves its own post because I'm sure like me, many of you never have been the speech about Europe from PSB. It's a gem. :D
It's also on Youtube's post.

That website is very flaky/dodgy… managed to see a shot of the Atomium though.

The cynic in me would say that’s just a list of artists/bands who have certain fans with more money than sense...That’s assuming they are fans and not just professionals making an “investment”
anybody that buys music has 'more money than sense', thats not really the point.
I was watching WatchMojo.com with another of its famous rankings. This one was called Another Top 10 Epic Movie Cameos. But the topic I am talking about is because of the Number 1 of the top.
You already know PSB wrote a song about Eminem with the album Release. The Night I Fell In Love was the...

He/she has mentioned that they won't share, but i live with the dream that one day by when I'm 80 years old, we may get these leaked.

I think the best way to sorta clear this all up is if someone here has an Instagram account and can message this person in private asking for details and maybe a sample (even tho the owner has this asinine stipulation that they won't share - yeah, whatever, get over yourself).
My favourite: Robert Conley. He produced Darren Hayes' The Tension And The Spark . One of the greatest electronic pop album in the last 20 years.
Another really great choice would be Johnny Jewel from his independent label Italiens Do It Better . He has a 80's New Romantic approach (Chromatics)....
Just a quick post to say that on last Friday's five live film programme with Kermode and Mayo(Wittertainment-hello to Jason Isaccs), the said Simon Mayo dropped into the conversation that he was at a folk festival thing for Rsdio 2 last week and that Rufus Wainwright appeared. Mayo said that he was...

I was at the Rufus Wainwright and the Amsterdam Sinfonietta orchestra concert and nabbed a programme. In it it mentions he worked with several people including Pet Shop Boys. I thought it was nice they mention PSB.
I know it's been mentioned on here before but it's so strange how little promotion they did for Bilingual. Searching on YouTube, it's difficult to find clips of them performing the singles anywhere. Was an O-Zone interview with Andi Peters really the extent of their UK promotion?
I can't...

Bilingual was also deliberately pitched against the trends of its time—an anti-Britpop album that was also disconnected from the dance music of the era. And disconnected from the hyper-creative 1980s milieu that had given rise to PSB in the first place: Italo disco, NYC electro and early hip hop,...
Sorry if this has been a topic before, but living in Canada, as I do, you don't often hear PSB except perhaps the odd radio play of West End girls on a retro radio station, or similarly popular Please/Actually era songs in various stores (What have I done to deserve this? and Always on my mind pop up from time to time).
Today I was really...

Pet Shop Boys are one of the most influential acts of all time with their timeless dance and techno hits, inspiring the next generation of stars such as Lady Gaga, Coldplay & The Killers. They've scored 44 consecutive Top 40 hits and 22 Top 10 classics. Check out the duo's UK Chart...

Do we know if the Pet Shop boys Hogmony gig is being televised on new year's Eve? The Scottish press in summarising the event state that that silly fool Lewis Capaldi is headlining it and only make references to Jock artists etc. There's no ref to Tennant or Lowe at all; nothing. I have zip...
I choose no, because I know that Chris is not so excited to sing. But I wish it would be a yes. Well, I'm a Chris fan... When he really do this in 2023 they should think of a mic stand or something like that. It is not really practical to take a mic in the hand and then play the keys. And I must...
I know it's a long shot but does anyone have a hi-res copy of this photo taken in Soho on 5th December 1985? I can find lots of photos from the same session but not this one (it also appears as a thumbnail on the Please inner sleeve).
Many thanks.

Yep, that's what I thought. Not sure why they / Farrow decided to cut the photo.
Maybe they were worried that having themselves pictured would give the impression the song was about them?
Verse 1:
In a world of endless screens
Our hearts are numb and our minds are mean
We're chasing shadows in the night
Searching for meaning in a synthetic life
Chorus:
Synthetic dreams, they never fade
In this world of digital masquerade
We're lost in a sea of data streams...

I asked it to write a story about the time Superman joined the Pet Shop Boys.
This is what it came up with. Pretty cool.
One day, the Pet Shop Boys received a surprise visit from none other than Superman himself. The Man of Steel had always been a fan of the duo's music and had heard that they...
Angelo Badalamenti
We are very sad to learn that the composer and arranger Angelo Badalamenti has died. We first worked with him in 1987 when he made the orchestral arrangement for “It couldn’t happen here” on our “Actually” album. He subsequently arranged songs we produced for...

I noticed on Facebook just now, a date for Dreamworld at Brighton Centre has just popped up: Monday 26 June 2023.
It hasn't been announced but is on ticket sites, for sale this Friday 18 November. I recommend keeping an eye on PSB social media if you're interested in more Dreamworld...

I recently let the last standing place go (Ticketmaster). A few years ago I would have been down to Brighton from London like a shot. Just having to be a bit more careful with funds these days. I have got a standing place for Leeds though, an excuse to do a trip oop North. My parents met at Leeds...
I wish PSB would do more with their fantastic catalogue, particularly while they are between albums and are busy touring. There are plenty of things I would happily part with money for and would plug gaps in their range. And I don’t mean pulling out substandard demos to pad out new editions of...

Since 2011 BBC4 has been airing Top of the Pops episodes, in chronological order from 1976 onwards. This week the episode originally aired on 08 August 1985 will be shown, which means PSB'S first appearence from November 1985 is just around the corner, and from that point they will be making...

One more Primavera Sound show: Porto on 9th of June.
The Pet Shop Boys, their music is a thrill
From their early days in South London still

To a place that's so far away
Their lyrics are thought provoking and wise
The themes they explore are always so precise
From love and life, to...

i always had this idea (hear me out) that they should have ended Discography with dj culture and saved was it worth it? for Very in place of one in a million (which then would have been the b-side of go west, with shameless going on Very where it belongs, in place of one and one make five. ) the...

One In a Million and One and One Make Five are two of my favourite songs off Very, I wouldn't remove them.

From an article published in the Sunday Times. If you have a free account, you can read three articles per month.
The new tour is a five-star hit; their most recent album was well-received; new music — possibly an EP with songs about modern fascism — will be incoming.

They recorded “Agenda” before going into the studio for “Hotspot” and I really thought that was a cool way of doing things, something to tide everyone over. Of course for “Agenda” they had a specific subset of songs that fit a theme, so who knows if they have that this time around? I always thought...
