I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

Has anyone got a bootleg tape/cd of the barfly gig? If not does anyone know if it is going to get released? It would be amazing to hear the live version of 'Tonight is forever.'

i recorded parts on my crappy video phone at the time but the pic quality was rather poor and the sound not very clever. I shared the videos to people at the time. Not sure which computer i saved them too now. But some people on here must have those ten or so mini videos I did.
does anybody know if things have evolved towards responsibility over the leaking of albums before their release?record companies/ artists sueing?

Who'd want a cruddy 128 kbps bitrate version of a song without the artwork anyway? If your hard drive crashes or cd-r becomes flawed, what do you do then?
You do what I've had to do in the past; grasp the hard drive or cd-r in question tightly in your hands, firmly press your lips to it, and kiss...

My little brother (4 years now) loves the PSBs and when I first put the It's a sin (Parkinson show) at the very beginning of the song he began shouting with joy 'It's a sini! It's 'It's a sin' . Though it's hard to recognise 'It's a sin' from the beginning of that version (my brother was about...
No they are not instrumental versions...I have six 30 second samples of songs including vocals, all official songs from the forthcoming album Fundamental.
I do have a copy of the album, but because of restictions, I cannot publish or forward complete songs or...

Your slipping Steffan :P
He is! I've had it for months. In fact I've played it that many times I'm always bored of it :D
Can you pass it over to me so i can get bored of it and then pass it on
Don´t send to me.
Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child born on the Sabbath Day,
Is fair and wise and good and gay.

Fer chrissakes, it's just a nursery rhyme poem! (And a very famous one at that)
I just posted it because I thought it was amusing to apply this to the Boys. (BTW, I'm not an idiot - I know the original meaning of gay - so do most people on this board, I'm sure!)
I'm looking for a new keyboard player for my (fairly well known) PSB tribute band Pet Shop Noise . Nigel, the bands current Chris Lowe is very busy at the moment and unlikely to be available for any gigs in the near future, including the PSB supported Convention in...

I have just been watching a couple of the tours over the last week and I have decided that all that ostume crap only ever looked good when they were live

Ive always liked this shot..
Neil looks about 6 foot 2 in that pic unless Chris has shrank?
Chris looks really short there.
Neil looked best in the 80s with that curly hair.
seem to be that probably the tracklist will be different...
there will be only 5 tracks and no LET IT WILL BE REMIX on them...
the problem is that the UK charts rules tell that the MAXI SINGLES can have only remixes for 1 track! (for max 40 minutes).
So the official news from UK is that the SORRY...
Been after one for a while. Just won one (with minor scratches, but that doesn't worry me) on eBay for £15.00 & £1.50 postage. About what I wanted to pay. :)

I find that when they haven't released anything for a while eBay tend to go quiet and you can pick up a few bargains.
When the new album comes out I suspect interest will rise and prices will go up again (well a bit anyway).
Not sure whether this was posted last year.
Anyway thought you might be interested to see where Pet Shop Boys came in a poll of the '100 Best London Gigs Ever' - as featured in London's 'TimeOut' magazine last year - May 25th - June 1st 2005.

I think we had this list here already some time ago, I have the feeling I remember the PSBs were No 26.
On BBC3 on the 9th feb at 01.15 there is a show called The Last laugh. This one is about Jonathan Harvey, he talks about Closer To Heaven. Clips fron C2H are shown too.
The topic on smash hits has made me wonder, would neil and chris have been succesfull if Neil hadn't worked for smash hits ? Who would have financed the trip to the states? Would he have known how to go about meeting Bobby O? Would chris have took Neil serious if he didn't have the smash hits...
Last post
Actually when they travelled to NY to record with Bobby O, Chris got money from his grandparents. And Neil went to bank. Was this mentioned in About cd ? Can´t remember now.
Come on guys...opinion time is here again! I'd have to say this is the one and only PSB song that I dislike, and to make matters worse it happens to appear on my least favourite album! Personally, I can't understand why PSB seem to really rate Eminem, least of all have a song about some Eminem...

i've always thought that it's actually johnny marr doing all the ooohs as he's credited for both the guitar and vocals for that ditty.
Just heard the longer version (8.34). It's like the one I already heard, just with some longer instrumental bits. I love it anyway, and I wish that the maxi is released next 20th February here in Spain, too.

I would say for almost a good year, I was not listening to much Pet Shop Boys material, but in anticipation of the arrival of new music, I have been listening to the catalog non-stop for the last two weeks. It is so beautiful to come back to these guys after a hiatus. Their music is so incredible....
This seems to be the latest rumour (can anyone identify the source)?
I'm running out of musical fantasies now. I need a new song. Shall we arrange a march on Tottenham Court Road? We could storm the EMI building in protest. :grumble:

I have this 12 remix on vinyl and occasionally go to the bother of dusting the old record player to play it but I would really like to listen to it without the snap crackle and pop that accompanies it. The funny thing with the esprit prices is that even when you halve them they are still a rip off. It does not take much searching around to find things cheaper, and I will never buy from them again that's for sure. And the prices they offer to buy stuff from you is more than laughable aswell.

why cant u listen to a sample like all the other top 50 downloads?
Good question :). Assume the answer will declare all!
I think it's high time for a PSB box set.
I'm thinking something similar to Erasure's
EBX 1-4 set.
True, the re-issues may cover most of this territory
but I'd kill for the CD singles with those hard to find
remixes packaged all together in a cool box.

Gotto be it. Probebly gonna pick up the new CD here too in due time.
is anyone getting fed up with the lack of a official confirmed release date for Minimal and Fundamental ? it seems bizarre Numb is being listed as second single when we don't even know when first is out. Couple of bits of info such as number of new b-sides, remixers wouldn't go amiss,
Last post
The information we've been given, by the record company, is that the album will now come out at the end of May and that the first single is 'Numb' and 'Im With Stupid'.
likely reason for this (if it is true) is that Numb received more favourable feedback from those who have heard the album and...
First of all, sorry to those who thought this was a pornographic thread. It's not, unfortunatly.
I've just thrown the PopArt dvd on and i've noticed a few things. It might well just be my copy but on a few songs, Neils singing and the actual words seem to be out of sync. It looks like bad miming....

Yeah, I was working out to PopArt this morning Dave and noticed exactly the same thing - out of sync, can't quite remember where though - Jealousy may have been one.
i found this today, dont know if its been posted here before but i think this is brilliant, load the webpage type in your artist and it will play radio songs from your artist and related/similar style music, try it, please let me know what you think of it, john.

This would seem to contradict some of the other recent reports, which have suggested it would only be a DJ promo.

No, I hadn't seen that -- which is curious since I check the official site almost every day. But that item slipped past me. Thanks!
You're welcome, Wayne. :)...
Here in the Castro SF I am used to seing trillions of European dance remakes of every song since 1980. I don't have a problem with that- although remaking Holiday with a bunch of idiot models strikes me as the height of pointless rape of other peoples' creativity.
I have a couple interview CDs, and one of them has a transcript of the questions that were asked of Neil and Chris. I saw a while back (maybe on Ebay or Eil.com- I can't remember) that some of the RE: Release CDs also had a transcript of questions included, though the one I obtained lacked it. :(...

Trouble is that if I had it, and I'm sure I've seen one then I cannot find it. If I had it i would've listed it on my collection list. I know it was small(ish) if that helps.

Minimal will sound on the radio at the end of February.

End of February sounds about right for Minimal's radio release as stations usually add songs about 5-6 weeks before their commercial release - and April 3rd has been cited for the latter.
I think it's true. They have more information about it than us, I suppose.
