I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...
I was watching WatchMojo.com with another of its famous rankings. This one was called Another Top 10 Epic Movie Cameos. But the topic I am talking about is because of the Number 1 of the top.
You already know PSB wrote a song about Eminem with the album Release. The Night I Fell In Love was the...
The David Bowie film (2022) starts with Hallo Spaceboy!
Almost the entirety plays out, including Neil's verse, whilst various Bowie & scene setting imagery is shown.
Really incredible and it's an honour to PSB to be featured not only in the film but right at the start.
I can see a Pet Text...

Yes, the Earls Court footage is extremely good quality, whereas some other stuff isn't.
This review from Cannes a few months ago tells you everything:
Marc performed a great cover of Rent this evening at Cadogan Hall with piano accompaniment from Chris (Braide!) saying beforehand that it was a song he wished he'd written and afterwards that he's always jealous of it!
Long time lurker and even longer time die hard here.
I have it on very good authority that the US Tour this fall will be a co-headline one with NEW ORDER.
Major news I think.
Thoughts!?

It’s like a dream come true. The only way it could have been even better for me if Depeche Mode were also on the bill. (Although, with a few song exceptions I don’t like DM post SOFAD album). Those 3 bands together… That would have been too much of a good thing I guess.
In light of recent government advice in relation to the ongoing situation and threat of COVID-19 globally, Pet Shop Boys’ Dreamworld tour can no longer commence as planned in May 2020 and the dates are being rescheduled. The European leg of the tour was...

As some may be aware, the U.K is hosting next year's Eurovision Song Contest. The date and venue of which has not yet been decided or finalised.. To that end, certain tours may be affected.. PSB are on the watch list.. Hopefully they will be spared..
So there is that Soft Cell interview in Electronic Sound magazine (issue 86, march? 2022) with minor PSB references here and there, and announces 'Happiness Not Included' upcoming album is due for release by BMG in the spring, along with a new version of 'Purple Zone' by Soft Cell and PSB. I know a Roland JD 800 was used for Pet Shop Boys - Can you forgive her? I did read the JP 8000 was a popular Synth as well with other 90s groups like Prodigy, it also mentioned Pet Shop Boys too.
Does anyone have any idea what PSB songs have the Roland JP 8000 played on them?
For my own entertainment, and ahead of their joint Unity tour this autumn, I’ve put together a Spotify playlist of all New Order and Pet Shop Boys’ singles, combined in chronological order.
Running their singles together in this way highlighted to me a few interesting career synergies which I...

We speculate about this kind of thing every time there’s a tour and to my knowledge it’s never happened.
There was speculation in 1999 that Bowie would join them on stage in Atlanta, lolz.
Pet Shop Boys are delighted to announce that they will be headlining the Other Stage at the long-awaited 50th Anniversary edition of the @glastonbury in June this year. More information is available at the link below.

Take a look at the whole video. A good perspective of Glastonbury:
I noticed today is the last ever episode of ‘Neighbours’. Does anyone have a the clip of our Chris appearing on there?
Does anyone know when it was, and why he was on there?
Those white boots Tennant's been wearing at the concerts, in the first part.
They're nice.
Anyone know where I can get some and/or what they are?

I used to work (many years ago) where they used to make Doc Martens boots before I got ill. They had a lot of factories/units at that time and a lot have gone now. There are just a few left and it may be worth looking at a programme that is often of BBC 2 called Inside the Factory - you may be able...
On Radio 1 in the early 90s there used to be a regular ‘skit’ called at home with the pet shop boys. They were only a minute or so long and were played on steve wright’s show I believe. It was basically 2 actors voicing Neil and Chris in stereotypical style (Neil talkative, chris grumpy). As I...

I don't mind a bit of PSB satire - the Spitting Image parody was savage (and homophobic) but still funny - but coming from a miserable beta male like Wright I'll pass.
I mean, was Weird Al Yankovic busy those years?
He was busy with his (underrated) movie UHF. It flopped and he was kinda in a...
From an article published in the Sunday Times. If you have a free account, you can read three articles per month.
The new tour is a five-star hit; their most recent album was well-received; new music — possibly an EP with songs about modern fascism — will be incoming.

Personally, I really liked the idea of Agenda being separate from Hotspot. Politics has become so politically charged over the past decade, and people's world-views based on such different premises that you can't even arrive at mutual agreement nowadays on what they ought to be called. That's not...
In an old literally, number 7 I think it mentions that Chris and Neil approached some bands/singers to record jingles for their shows. Carter USM, Kylie and Seal were mentioned that they recorded one/some. Has anyone ever heard these somewhere else as from memory I don’t think they were used on the...

Hello!
Speaking of jingles, several years ago I heard something like PET SHOP PET SHOP PET SHOP BOYS between two of their songs. Does it ring a bell to you?
I don't know if it was an official jingle or a sound created to mix songs together, but I thought it was pretty cool! :-)
Was it this?...
Tempus fugit. Cool World , a long-forgotten movie starring Kim Basinger and Brad Pitt, was released 30 years ago this month. No? Me neither. On its soundtrack was Disappointed by Electronic which had emerged as a single in the UK a few weeks earlier. I think it just might be my favourite non-Pet...
The idea came to me removing all the regular stuff from PSB career and only keep projects (collaborations, musicals, soundtracks etc) and see if it would be enough? Enough material for a career, enough for a fan to enjoy. So it's all about the ART and not so much the POP

Stop Modernists feat Chris Lowe - Subculture - a New Order cover from 2011
Do the boys do any soundchecks on this tour? Soundchecks which one would be able to hear if it's an outdoor venue?
Last post
Some bands charge fans to watch a sound check. I went to see omd a while ago and the people I met at the gig said they paid to see the sound check which was a bit dull as they had to be quiet for quite a bit of it and you never get to hear a track all the way through.
With the tour fast approaching, people will be keen to share their experiences and discuss any new snippets of information. I’m sure there’ll be forum members that don’t want to see or hear “spoilers”. Let’s use this space so people can have the choice.

I would imagine they will be adding more next summer dates this tour has definitely been a money making success, would be wonderful if the joint New Order tour came to Britain and Europe in our dreams 🙂
This is the ultimate legends tour!! 😎😎😎 Although it was a different project/band, would be great to hear some Electronic tracks.. Disappointed, Patience of a saint & GAWI are such a great songs 😇.
It would also be great to have a medley of a NO & a PSB track.. Bizarre Love Triangle with...
The situtation for PSB in 2000s was a bit complicated. Its career was 2 decades long. Pet Shop Boys were not being played on Radio 1 anymore and they were not old enough to be considered pop legends. Chart rules were going to change and PSB had their last Top 10.
They have to reborn again with a...

Great article 👍 It feels like surviving the 2000s has been the key to their recent legendary/mythical status! Many other bands would have broken up or disappeared. I think they survived the naughties because of their songs ultimately. I became a fan in 99, so all the albums after I listen to more...
1992 mey seem like an empty PSB year but then it struck me that The Crying Game was released in september that year and reached nr 22 on the UK chart (even higher than Was it worth it)... and apparently nr 1 on the Icelandic chart.
It was of course sung by Boy George but it's really a PSB version...

Maybe on the US leg.
If so, I hope they don’t drop “Losing My Mind” in favor of it. “Losing My Mind” is one of my absolute favorites and they haven’t played that live since “Performance.”

I'm not sure if this has been asked before but does anybody have a list of the songs played in the hour or so before PSB go on stage on the Super tour? I was at Nottingham and there was one track which was really good. It had a military sounding chant something like 1, 2...3, 4!! in it. I thought...

The one that sounds as if it’s PSB? It’s the Maceo Plex remix of Rone’s ‘Babel’. Awesome track. They should get Maceo as their next producer (him or Kölsch).
I agree. The author of the original track, Rone, would also be an excellent choice. I think his album Room With A View is a masterpiece!...
I was in the first row by the fence at the concert in Budapest last night and we were close to witnessing another failure. Haha amusing! He missed the first bassline. The look on Neil's face too
Honestly haven't noticed a thing, I think this barely qualifies.
Hi,
Last weekend I saw the Pets in the BBK fest in Bilbao, Spain.
The concert was super, as usual. But they played 6 songs less than in their previous shows.
I hate the fact that in festivals there are less time to play because after them there are other groups programmed.
If the normal show has 26...
A few 'Heart' facts - the single reached #1 in the @officialcharts, was going to be offered to @Madonna and features vocals from Pavarotti.

It all proves that the production qualities of PSB are superior to most other bands of the same type. Such a full production, so many sounds and things going on that you can explore and discover stuff even after 30 years.
It's the standard shorter festival setlist with approx. 7 songs missing, try and keep up!
Kind of prefer the shortened set list in some way. Drunk and Jealousy didn't work for me at the concert, they should've put in I'm with stupid and Love etc instead to have a song from every era. And of...
Now that I got you attention... (enough of Integral btw)

In The Night: Zazou, come on tell me who instead of Comment allez-vous?
The Zazou-stuff intrigued me until I found it was french, one of those songs where PSB made you as the listener intelectual, especially when as in my case I was only 7-8 years old. Couldn't have wished for a better english...
Oops, realised at the BP concert that Neil actually sings you can't hide in Suburbia. I've always, since circa 86/87, thought that it's you can hide, run with the dogs tonight . Man, what a realisation.

And I thought can hide made more sense... first: lost in the high street where the dogs run , then let's.. run with the dogs tonight and then later you can hide, run with the dogs tonight . To me it was obvious that someone hides in suburbia in the dark, with the dogs, running and roaming, hiding...
When Being Boring finished last saturday in Bilbao I close my eyes just to remember the moment.
I've seen 5 times the Pets in concert (6 counting the Potemkin soundtrack in Segovia) and I have the feeling that that night was the last time I'd ever watch them.
Let me explain.
Maybe they'll keep on...

First reaction: So what? - there's so much music from them anyway, the tours aren't that important.
2nd reaction: Bob Dylan and Tom Jones, both 82 years old, are on tour right now. So I'm looking forward to PSB tour of 2036.
...because the music plays forever.
New hip-hop collab w/ Riz Ahmed and Heems (of Das Racist). Good stuff and hey, if the play on PSB enables some non-fan to check out N+C's work, hey, all the power to them!
The Dreamworld Tour is so great,so beautiful, and I asked myself all the time, what is the song,I like most on tour.
It is so difficult to answer, but for me is,surprisingly,Dreamland-the stage looks so great on this song, the sound much better than on CD.After that Heart-what a design, like a game on...
Anybody else getting ready for the gig in Budapest on Wednesday (6th)? Is this the last non-festival concert on the continent?
I'll probably scope around the arena quite early if anybody wants to join.
There are plenty of tickets left as far as I can see.

Went for walk around Budapest and bumped to Pete leaving Four season hotel to sound check, next day walk around hotel again and met whole crew leaving to airport. Nice time spent there, great concert of course. But quite hot weather to wait 2 hours in 2nd row.
Hi! Hope you are well. The Daily Mail tv guide have a picture of PSB in it and they are on Radio 2 tonight at 9.00pm. Some radio mix thing with songs. I have put this here incase you didn't see it in the radio section as this is a bit short notice. :)

Neil and Chris’s Unpredictable Party Playlist
Sounds like their takeover at the end of last year.
yeah, this is the same tracklist.
Dreamworld is a greatest hits tour and I'm a big fan of chart positions and PSB. So I've classified the hits based on chart positions (not only in UK but more global) to rate them with stars in order to know the more popular songs based on that.
1 star: no big chart positions
2 stars: top 20 hit

I recently attended the show they offered at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin and I was able to enjoy myself like a child with the Hot Experience VIP tickets.

I hope that at Wembley they have the same capacity for sound and lighting.
They use the same sound, visuals, and lighting rig in every venue. Hence, it's often a more impressive show in smaller venues, where the show really fills up the space.

- Why don't we live together?

In ye olden days charts, once an act became established, a top ten single wasn't true success unless it stayed there for more than one week.

I'm not going to get into the whole PSB vs Erasure thing but when you see PSB performing their greatest hits to such acclaim, including high-profile coverage like Glastonbury, it must really grate with them that they're not similarly beloved as national treasures. I'm obviously a Pethead but I...

I love these conflict rockumentaries, have not seen the a-ha one (but will go and see it) but Metallica’s Some Kind of Monster is great (and I do not like their music at all). Duran’s Three to get ready is also an interesting watch, albeit too much a “promo” documentary (even though the tensions...
