I agree, kinda. The PSB never had aspirations, as best I can tell, of not being as commercial as possible. For a brief moment in 1984 they were “underground” but I don’t think it was ever their desire to remain there.
As this year draws to a close (in the Julian calendar at least), I thought this could be a good space to gather thoughts on an extraordinary year for Pet Shop Boys' fans.

Yes, just like Leonard, I can see PSB having a late career explosion of creativity. I think the catalyst for Leonard was his manager ripping him off; let’s hope for different drivers for PSB.
I love the extended mixes and I believe some of them would've fitted well the the albums instead of on the 12''. Not all of them though, some are too long or are too eclectic.

I still have some of them as MP3s - however better versions have become available. I think at the time you could copy and paste them from a certain Windows folder / temp directory depending on Quicktime / RealPlayer / Windows Media Player. Always liked these little gifts back in the day.
