I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...
In light of recent government advice in relation to the ongoing situation and threat of COVID-19 globally, Pet Shop Boys’ Dreamworld tour can no longer commence as planned in May 2020 and the dates are being rescheduled. The European leg of the tour was...

The track listing for Noel Gallagher's upcoming new album, Council Skies has leaked and there's a PSB 12 remix of a track called Think Of A Number.. Screenshot_20230117-075422.png
I seem to recall reading somewhere that they had been working on a remix for someone, this looks like the result....

Superb remix, although I was hoping to hear a Neil harmony on this bit :
I hope it comes round again
Right now, people are dancing
I can't hear Neil at all on the track. I'm guessing the other mixes have more Neil vocal on?
Jenesaispop is a website that is very PSB friendly, there is an interview here with James Ford. He doesn't say too much about the new album. But he says some interesting things:
- He thinks the album is not going to be released very soon, not even this year maybe.
- The album goes very well. The...

- The album goes very well. The songs are excellent.
I wonder if any producer could say that he didn't like the songs the musicians brought him, but he would still work on them anyway.
Myself (Graham) and Dog (Chris) have made the brave (or foolish!) move to record a series of Pet Shop Boys fan podcasts.
Prior to recording, we had only met once ‘on a wet Wednesday night’ in a pub near where we both live in West Yorkshire in the north of England. But we thought it might be fun...

Had a listen …. great stuff Chris and Graham!
As others have said, listening to you recount your stories jogged my own memories of those early years of discovery. I had totally forgotten about the tone that played on cassettes but I’m itching to hear that again now!
I wanted to ask if anyone has bought tickets for Wembley on the Even Travel website (
I ask because I have several doubts.
1. Today I have not received the tickets yet.
2. After sending them an email, they told me that the tickets are not sent, they are downloaded. But I...

I used them last year for Bournemouth. They mailed physical tickets but were very reputable and responsive so I’m sure if they say these ones are downloadable that they will provide the link.
When I go to watch some football matches on TV on the break of them, I like watching these channels to watch those videos of the big era of music videos. It's sad when you watch MTV nowadays with those horrible no music show or MTV Hits with so many lyric videos, the same you can watch on Youtube....

PSB talk here (min 28) about what happened to them with MTV. The homoerotic video of Domino Dancing could have been the end of their success in USA because PSB didn't play their videos so much after that (but I've seen many videos after Domino Dancing era of them on these MTV's oldies channels):...

It's been quite some time, but I'm finally running a new PSB poll. It's my latest Rating Project survey, in which I ask my site visitors to rate each of the Pet Shop Boys' songs a scale of 0 to 10 based on how they compare to the PSB song catalog overall:
0 = One of the worst PSB songs ever!...

I believe that there should be a general update for all previous songs - at least from albums/singles older than 10-15 years.
I agree. There *should* be. And it's something I would almost certainly do if Neil and Chris ever get to a point where they stop releasing new music. But to redo all of...
I know there is another thread with this topic but many of you could think you have listened the full version of the song with the link of the other thread and it's not true. That one was taken from the film.

May we possibly fix the misleading title of this thread as this is not a cover version but technically a recreation of the instrumental? At least that’s what it’s aiming at. Thank you.

Hi everyone, my family and I are heading down to Blackpool and St Annes for the weekend. My wee girl is mad on PSB just now, especially Chrissy Baby - are there any places of interest I could show her whilst we are there? I thought at one point there was a mural of Chris near the Winter Gardens (?)...

There was a mural of Chris but that was a few years ago. Not sure if still doing the Silver Arches light show on Birkey Street, to PSB music? Otherwise it’s the standard tourist spots to enjoy 😊.

Video reminds me of the shamen, eeeez are gud!

I think it's in my top 50 PSB songs. The effect on Neil's vocals in verses (like he's singing through the phone) is what makes me like album version more than the single mix.
The BPI has awarded the pet shop boys a few updates on their sales awards.

West End Girls, has just been certified platinum in the U.K (600,000) this includes download sales and streaming.

I’ve taken the liberty of starting a new thread to help us separate chat about the new EP.

Agree with that but I really believe Shameles was a clear opener for Very . For me, one of their biggest mistakes.
Shameless might be a bit overwhelming for an album opener. You need to prep people a bit before you throw all that high-NRG irony at them. Can You Forgive Her is the perfect,...
Hm, stupid question perhaps but I sometimes I feel that we never really discuss the basics. Why are PSB so good? We all like them but there must be some basic ingredient that makes their quality high.
I think I might have an answer. Some things are apparent: the lyrics are of high quality (but...

Many Thanks for posting the article GalataPSB. It reminded me to set Sky to record the programmes yesterday. I can't keep up with the time at the moment :D
I've always had a somewhat complicated relation to Opportunities. Firstly, I never really liked the title in brackets (Let's make lots of money). Secondly, I liked the version on Disco from the beginning but I found the Please mix a bit too non-melodic. But that has all changed over the years....

Some people prefer actual achievements, I suppose. There's no reason to have to hunt down a track in 2023.
Hi.
I am a collector, and I'm actually hunting down records I'm looking for, even if we are in 2023.
We're not looking for tracks.
We're looking for records.
Here are some interesting new bits from Annually which I thought I’d pull out in case we wanted to discuss further.

Radiophonic said in the Disco 4 OS thread: of course this puts paid to any 'Collaboration'-type album.
Actually from what I've heard on the grapevine I'd say precisely the opposite. Think about it, none of the other artist's tracks on Disco 4 were originally written or produced by PSB. They are...

I tried to make a new double album out of Super given that we now have four more tracks (Lost) to add to the 12 album tracks and the six b-sides. But I just felt there would be too many tracks, short ones, a true double album should have fewer but longer tracks.
So I thought of making a Lost 2016...

05 Living in the Past
Side B

Sorry if this was discussed before, but nothing came up using the Search function.
Just today I realised that the mix of Friendly Fire included on Format is a different version compared with the I Get Along DVD single and Nightlife/Further listening version.
I have to think Pet Shop Boys are loving the new Everything But The Girl, Fuse ? I am enthralled with it. It's arranged and recorded exquisitely. My esteem for Ben Watt has ballooned further. I almost don't need Tracey Thorn to record with PSB anymore, but I still hope it happens.
