Re: Report: Pop Justice Playback at ICA

Well Neil rationalised it by saying they were interested in the Latin-electronica dialectic. I think it's essentially a Latin record even if a few of the songs don't necessarily have castanets on them.

Re: Report: Pop Justice Playback at ICA

I don't think it's faux at all. One of the things I love most about them is that in the middle of the awful Britpop 'phenomenon', they made a Latin record.

Before is on the Mail on Sunday cd because Chris likes it so much. Ditto Home and dry for Neil.

It's definitely Chris singing on This used to be the future. I recognise his dulcet tones from I made my excuses and left.

Holy Moly's mail-out this week describes it as the biggest mismatch since Lembit Opik and a Cheeky Girl.

Re: YES sounds weak as compare to Fundamental

Yes is fantastic. The weakest track is Beautiful people which is completely out of place on such a modern, electronic album. Legacy is a curate's egg too but as it's the last track, it doesn't really matter. They should have replaced Beautiful people with This used to be the future. Xenomania really...

Re: Report: Pop Justice Playback at ICA

It sounded like you'd imagine a PSB/Human League/Xenomania combination would sound, a synthpop supergroup. Melancholy too - the lyrics sounded very sad. I have to admit I was most taken with Chris's lovely vocals.

Re: Report: Pop Justice Playback at ICA

Sorry, but isn't this hypocrite? If this is really your opinion about the news paper, I don't understand why you give away 2,2 million cd's with that newspaper for free. I doubt if it's going to gain them many new fans. As if people in the UK don't know Pet Shop Boys by now... He admitted that half...

Denied they were ever offered the Brits Outstanding Contribution Award before. An urban myth like the hamsters, Neil might have said.

Re: Report: Pop Justice Playback at ICA

They'd work with Little Boots 'cos she's from Blackpool and like Ladyhawke too. Chris was intrigued by the former's vertical keyboard.
