Re: Time to get ready for "Annually 2021"...out May 7, 2021

I haven’t even had a dispatched email yet and I purchased using PayPal as I did with the Discovery DVD. I got a dispatched email for that on the Tuesday before the Friday. I’ve got a bad feeling about this… Exactly the same for me. The order status is ‘Confirmed’ which is what it says for all of my...

Re: Time to get ready for "Annually 2021"...out May 7, 2021

This seems to happen year after year with pre-orders. They are either blocked as possible fraud or because there’s been a new card since the original order. I’d be well pee’d off! I started to use PayPal instead if I have to pre-order from them. It means I have to pay upfront but it avoids situation...

Re: Quintessentially

Here in Sweden we have northerners as well, usually lumped together as a bunch of slow speaking, tobacco chewing people hardend by years in the mining or logging industry. I really don't know what concept of the the english Northerner is all about. The fascinating Sami people? You couldn’t get more...

Re: Quintessentially

Soon after that I found a VHS of It Couldn't Happen Here from a local library, and the gritty and seedy views of England were quite different after the fantasy land of the Very videos. The chilly seaside and a B&B house with bay windows were forever etched into my mind as 100% English things. T...

Re: The Taxi Driver And His Mate..

I’ve read the first volume of Richard Coles’s memoirs. It’s a good read. He mentions being mistaken for a Pet Shop Boy on about three separate occasions. That does sound an interesting read. Richard Coles seems to have become even more of a celebrity in recent years than he was in The Communards. H...

Me too but she doesn’t always seem to understand ‘please’. I love these little quirks in its system. She’s been a Pethead for quite a while. If she’s listening in to conversations in this house she’ll be bored out of her tiny chips!

Re: Longevity from a fan perspective

There are 2 meanings to the word ‘vindicated’ and I don’t see any hint of guilt in Gabby’s post. It’s been decades since I took any notice of other people’s thoughts on the music I like. Fortunately PSB were very popular when I first became a fan which was at the very beginning so it was never an is...

Re: It Couldn't Happen Here (remastered) on YOUTUBE

I for one am SICK and TIRED of reading Sage’s critical and rude comments. I tried the button to contact admins but am reading this on a mobile device. I think it’s time for a ban. It makes me angry that in a lovely music discussion forum I have to read these hateful messages nearly every day. Total...

Re: Hotspot: 1 year old today

Hotspot will also remind me of the pandemic in the future. I will remember that it was one of the albums that helped make it bearable.

Re: Albums played live

Great question! Difficult one too. Behaviour would have to be one of them. Second for now I’d go for Hotspot since we haven’t heard that live. I do hope they will do something like that one day.

Re: Time to get ready for "Annually 2021"...out May 7, 2021

No one has the right to tell anyone how much of a fan they are under any circumstances! Unbelievable arrogance! My income isn’t even high enough to pay tax in this country so I have to think VERY carefully about what I can and can’t buy. I’ve never bought Annually because I can’t afford it. Does tha...

Re: Catalogue Book

I don’t know why I didn’t get a copy of this fabulous book when it was originally issued. I’ve not heard of any plans to reissue it again unfortunately. I was very lucky to find one on eBay just a few months ago in excellent condition for only £27. Keep your eye out and you might be lucky.

Re: Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller

I’m not particularly a fan of Paul Weller though he has a few interesting songs. I would never have imagined a PSB collaboration but I’m looking forward to listening. I couldn’t really give a flying fig what anyone thinks about England or how significant it is either. I don’t live there but I can’t ...

Re: Sophie Ellis Bextor - It’s a Sin

It’s so good to have people like Sophie Ellis Bextor who are happy just to share some fun with her kids who actually love it too. It was never meant to be serious or anything other than an online party. She balances out the thankfully few people who are tediously dull and quite frankly depressing.

Re: Hotspot: 1 year old today

I’m a both on all counts. Electric is a stunner. Hotspot is seriously good. Burning the Heather is one of the best songs they’ve ever done and Release will always be a gem. As for Monkey Business. I hated it on first hearing but that was a minor blip on my part.
