Re: It’s A Sin - Years & Years cover

From The Mirror: A BRITs spokesperson told the Mirror: "The collaboration between Elton John and Olly Alexander was always the original concept and came about after Olly appeared on Elton’s Rocket Hour show to talk about his role in the groundbreaking drama It's A Sin. There was then an invitat...

Re: It’s A Sin - Years & Years cover

I find it interesting that PSB themselves didn't say anything about the performance or link to it, but I have an idea what this might all be about. Everyone who has appeared on the Brits this year has produced Instagram videos and other social media content, appeared on the red carpet, and made a bi...

Re: Discovery 1994 - DVD/CD-Release

I was 18 when Behaviour came out. As profoundly great as that was, it wasn't a record that was going to keep onboard fairweather fans who wanted wall-to-wall "stompers", as we old-school relics used to call "bangerz". Drico. I was 18 when Release came out and had a similar exper...

Moderators, I think this thread wants closing or at least moving. It's getting like Twitter in here.

Re: Time to get ready for "Annually 2021"...

"Cricket wife" is an extremely PSB sleeve for me. The typeface is (I think) meant to emulate words sewn onto a cricket jumper, but rather than looking homemade, it's entirely regular and the pattern behind it is dead straight, regular and centred. It's very English and crickety, but defini...

‘Alternative’ photoshoot

Evening all. I’ve always loved Alternative as a compilation, as it was the way I heard most of the tracks for the first time, and it seems to work really well still, despite everything being available elsewhere now. I adore the artwork, especially the Eric Watson photos in the booklet. Does anyone k...

Re: PSB Vinyl: A Question

do the current pressings of PSB albums come with their original inner picture sleeves? i.e does Introspective come with the yellow inner sleeve, does Actually come with the inner sleeve with Neil and Chris sitting in a dark room with broken wall etc? I wrote a long post but the short answer is yes,...

Re: PSB Vinyl: A Question

Behaviour hasn’t got the classy red inner lining and release is not the original white vinyl, but otherwise they are decent. These Catalogue rereleases were handled very carefully by Farrow and are pretty faithful recreations of the original vinyl releases. Behaviour does have a lovely deep red inn...

Re: Somewhere DVD

I find this very interesting. I’d given up hope for a good version of Somewhere, as I thought I’d read that there was a fault on the master tape or a bad connection, meaning it had never recorded properly. I’m very pleased to hear I’m making that up! I’m intrigued as to how good the VHS sounds, and ...

Re: Discovery 1994 - DVD/CD-Release

I bought a rip of the laserdisk onto dvd off Ebay a few years ago. Really well packaged and everything. Guess I'll be able to retire that now. And hopefully the 1989 tour will come out at some point now too. Wasn't that filmed on 16mm film which means in theory it could be converted to HD if they r...

Re: Discovery 1994 - DVD/CD-Release

Wasn't "Somewhere" released on DVD already? It was but the sound mix was weirdly much worse than the VHS. I digitised a copy of the VHS years ago (along with Discovery). Would be great to have a proper version of this too. I’m so excited about Discovery. Always hope that all crowds will b...

Re: Discovery 1994 - DVD/CD-Release

This is exciting news, I never got the VHS but have seen the concert somewhere on TV many years ago. Is it 4:3 ratio though? Pretty sure 16:9 wasn't a thing back then (although that's now on the way out apparently, welcome "16:10" (sic)). The otherwise unreleased medleys on CDs are the se...

Re: Live performances of Chris in past and now.

I had the same experience at Musik with Chris. He was there completely incognito with friends, just in an expensive-looking black hoodie and jeans. Throughout the show you could hear him hooting with laughter. Virtually nobody recognised him. He looks MUCH better in person. He’s small, slim, energet...

Re: Just listened to Relentless - it's not very good

Some Speculation was played at the Savoy and is not on the DVD. I have a vague memory from being at the Savoy that Neil left the stage for both “The man who has everything” and “Some speculation” and Chris played chords while Sylvia sang and Les Childs did his thing. Does anyone else remember that?

Re: CD with demos of "Actually"

The snippets are interesting. Maybe the CD-Rs are genuine from the compiling of Actually Further Listening in 2001, but it’s more likely he’s made them himself, especially as the listing is so defensive. Even if I was willing to spend £2,400 on these, the listing is so angry I wouldn’t give him my b...
