Re: Hotspot - Forum Reactions.

Against all the odds, I’m beginning to enjoy how bonkers/daft/ridiculous WIB is. I still don’t think it fits on the album, though. Narratively or otherwise. I do hope, however, that you all hear it, love it and think I’m an idiot. Could you all hurry up and hear it soon, please. I NEED TO TALK ABOU...

Re: The New Album Info Thread

Great review so far - don't be hard on yourself (re being unable to describe music), you are already creating aural soundscapes in my mind. My question would be: 'How close is it in sound/mood to Behaviour?' Finally, I'm happy that you didn't like Dreamland but that it fits within the album - as I'm...

Re: The New Album Info Thread

I know this question may sound strange especially before any publication of your thoughts on the new album, but my friend is insisting on asking if there is some track with a quality similar to I Want a Lover? He is obsessed wth this song and always makes jokes that the new album should include 201...

Re: Burning The Heather Remix

This is brilliant. Dare I say better than the original. This is what I am hoping the new album sounds like.

Love the sparse-ness of it all. Sounds similar to the remixes that RAC do.

A great start to a Monday morning!

... plus a gig at the Lincoln Centre in Washington DC in early March would be very much appreciated as an addition to my birthday celebrations!

Re: News tomorrow! (Nov 14th)

I'd say Sunday Glastonbury. With a big, happy, send-them-all home triumphant set.

Plus *cough* old school Christmas single *cough*

Re: Heaven 1991: Was it worth it?

Finally got around to digging out the ‘etc.’ dub mixes and I have to say I really enjoyed them.

Kind of like a pop version of an Underworld track.

Can anyone recommend any other dub mixes from the PSB catalogue?

Re: Heaven 1991: Was it worth it?

I always understood dub as an 'alternative mix' to the original track where some bars stand for themeselves to have more power. There are often the drums being emphasized and you could also build a new version of the song around the drums (like in Was it worth it?). Cheers all - I'll dig 'etc' out....

Re: Heaven 1991: Was it worth it?

I feel as though I waited all my PSB life to ask this question. What exactly is the definition of a ‘dub’ mix? I have always thought it was a modern (80’s) way of saying ‘instrumental’ and as a rule I’ve tried to avoid them. Personally I prefer it when the track “has a vocal”. Perhaps people could ...

Re: The New Album Info Thread

If it doesn't come with a poll, it doesn't exist. Drico. It's true. The only one song from the new album you'll listen in the Dreamland Tour is Dreamland (because that's the title of the tour), the rest of it will be hits. In fact, the new album won't have a commercial sound but they have plans for...

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Hyde Park Sep 15th 2019

NO, they need to release the version of What have I done to deserve this? from Performance. with the amazing breakdown at the end. It's the best version they have ever done. And would have worked brilliantly in Hyde Park https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZoNKMIHbHk Was there any part of Performance ...
