Re: PSB & OMD

The "Sugar Tax" album from 1991 definitely felt like it had some PSB influence in the production. Sounded more like PSB than it sounded like OMD's previous couple of records. Check out songs like "Speed Of Light" or "Pandoras Box".

Re: New Single - Loneliness

Loneliness - This is fine. Not a huge fan of the mixing. It's not as bad as on "Through You", but synth pop just needs more clarity than we get here - clean up that bottom end! I also think the drum programming sounds very lazy, dated and uninteresting. Otherwise the song is fine, but not...

Nah, Moments In Love alone has been sampled countless times. https://www.whosampled.com/Art-of-Noise ... e/sampled/

Re: Drake sung some West End Girls

No credit given o permission requested. What do you think PSB are going to do? Nothing. What do you think they should do? I don't know the legal stance but I have one thing to say: "Somebody spoke and I went into a dream" Lennon/McCartney Did PSB seek permission to use that? I don't belie...

I don't know the legal stance but I have one thing to say: "Somebody spoke and I went into a dream" Lennon/McCartney Did PSB seek permission to use that? I don't believe credit was given at the time. The West End Girls lyric is pretty iconic though (arguably more than the Beatles one). Co...

Re: Soft Cell & Pet Shop Boys

It's pretty good. The Always on my mind style synth stabs are....interesting. They make the track sound very old school, but also somewhat cheesy.

Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP

You're right. I don't know the concept. I am judging the music and it sounds terrible. You are doing the equivalent of judging a comedy as a drama. It's a pointless exercise that makes you look silly. That's ridiculous. Music should be able to be judged on its own merit, especially when said music ...

Breathing space is one of their best ever. At the time of release I was going through some difficult times/major life crossroads decisions and it really resonated with me as a result and helped a lot. Beautiful, evocative song. How different we are. I find it to be their worst ever album track. Jus...

Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP

Absolutely no need to spend tonnes of money. Just a little effort really. Or alternatively reel in some young producer who's dying to work with a couple of synth-pop legends for a dime. Sounds like you have no idea what the Edinburgh Fringe is, nor the context of the one-woman show itself. The song...

Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP

Erm... just FYI there is no such thing as 'general midi drum sounds'. General Midi only defines the name of the sound, not the actual sound itself, which could be anything. I am referring to two things: One is the rhythmic patterns, which sounds like those found on "arranger keyboards" in...
