Re: PSB DJ Culture Radio 1 - August 92

The quality is exactly what you would expect from a TDK D-90 recorded off the radio and which has been in my loft for 28 years. Mixcloud makes only 67-68 kbps available to us. Reckon your rips sound much better than that. Since you are making them publicly available anyway and this does not seem to...

These appear to be of WAV quality unlike the Monday shows which are only 71 kbps. Deliberate?

Thoughts - genuine or not?
I'd give it 80% probability of being fake. Chris' signature looks especially unconvincing.

Re: The Theory about Disco 5

Can't recall which Disco it was — either 3 or 4, but I recall someone asked Neil along the lines why they keep releasing Disco and how long will it keep happening, to which Neil replied along the lines that there will certainly be Disco 4, 5, 6 etc. ... here it is. Nothing about Disco 5 but, anyway,...

Re: How many Tennant/Lowe-tracks?

I just checked my original Please CD to confirm that it indeed does not bear writing credits (unlike mixing/engineering ones) at all. What a heck. The writing credits on the 20xx reissue CDs is such a shoddy, sloppy copy/paste job. This alone seems to be a reason to buy the vinyl  .

Pet Shop Boys - Radio 1, Monday 24 July 1992, 9:00-10:00 Pet Shop Boys - Radio 1, Tuesday 25 July 1992, 9:00-10:00 Very much appreciate your transcripts, but the dates still need to be corrected. In July 1992 the 27th was Monday. So, the 24th could not be Monday and the 25th could not be Tuesday.

Re: IT COULDN’T HAPPEN HERE BLU-RAY SCORE A SEMITONE LOWER

Do you have a citation for that? lol Well you have to provide something to sound convincing. Laughter does not. I asked a question because I don't know the answer. Were the vintage PSB videos shot at 24fps or 25fps? Like I said, we don't know it directly. Only by inference. But in case of ICHH (and...

Re: IT COULDN’T HAPPEN HERE BLU-RAY SCORE A SEMITONE LOWER

Most UK music videos from the era were shot 24fps because of that. Do you have a citation for that? It is true that music videos were made to sell music and hence home video was a negligible consideration. But I pretty much doubt that PMI , a UK promo company would mostly target US market (and ther...

Re: IT COULDN’T HAPPEN HERE BLU-RAY SCORE A SEMITONE LOWER

I'd expect them to recall the Blu-ray and reissue the movie. That would have been horrible because Blu-rays have to be 24 fps, so they would have to resample every 25 frames of the original 25 fps footage into new 24 frames interpolating those 25 to keep the speed right. (They have actually done pr...

Re: IT COULDN’T HAPPEN HERE BLU-RAY SCORE A SEMITONE LOWER

I'm not sure the bolded bit is true - has Jack Bond clarified this or is it an assumption? Theatrical presentations were rarely assembled specifically for ancillary release; thinking about a future PAL home video release normally wouldn't have been a factor in the thinking behind a theatrical featu...

Re: Security certificate expired?

Been looking for this "automatically" thing, since several months, but didn't found anything "easy" yet. So if you have some pages/explanations - just point me to them. Not sure how "easy" this is but the official manual is here: https://certbot.eff.org/docs/using.html#renewing-certificates Basical...

Surprised that she didn't do more with PSB, but they already have the greatness of Sylvia Mason James!
Yeah I thought she would be one of those ladies who sang on Before but no, those are different people.

Re: Security certificate expired?

It has expired indeed. The infrastructure just needs some technical care — these security certs can be renewed automatically for free. I am trying to reach out to Steffen to see if he needs any help with this.

Re: Live performances of Chris in past and now.

You do know he was born at the end of the 50s? How young do you expect him to look? Well, not older than Neil at least. I think Chris was ageing normally until late 00s when his ageing accelerated. In July 2005 I saw him face to face, he looked his 45 years old. In 2013 he already looked like no le...
