Re: Any crazy hanging out stories with Neil/Chris?

Was a bit taken aback at the time but I know wasn’t personal, if that makes sense? He’d had enough of being pestered so my and his mate’s timing wasn’t great. It’s funny now and have spoken to him since, though never mentioned this episode (think he’d be genuinely mortified). As said, it was his eye...

Re: Any crazy hanging out stories with Neil/Chris?

@spooky I was once told by Chris to “F*ck off”. His mate was trying to introduce me but he thought I was someone else. All good as have seen him since then (was back 1997). But will never forget those eyes aka the infamous Chris Lowe stare.

Re: What would you think a future PSB's album should sound like in order to reinvent themselves?

Still say a hook-up with Pedro Gonzales would be great. But for the more hard-edge Berlin type minimalist techno they should use someone like Kolsch to produce them. For it to be different, they would need to alter their writing style too; less Burning the heather (which was supposed to be the key t...

Re: Guardian 100 Greatest UK No.1's

Completely shocked to read that it was Stephen Hague who played the infamous bass line on West End girls not Chris! Need a lie down after that as all my dreams have been shattered.

Agree there. West End girls is a true one-off but YKWYWW is still a good song. Can think of many worse ones like Winner or Love is a bourgeois construct

No way ‘massively inferior’! That’s a great song that should’ve been a single. Definitely needs a revisit; a new lockdown version perhaps?!

Re: Guardian 100 Greatest UK No.1's

Get in! Never doubted it’d be number one - honest lol. But, fantastic. That haunting, euphoric, atmospheric opening never fails to make the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and takes me back very clearly to when I first heard it. Powerful, intelligent and enigmatic. Deserves to be number one!

Personally love it. Brings the boys slap bang into 2020! Wish they’d redo some others similarly.

Re: Bring him back - I know who I want to produce the next album

@df118junkie pmsl agree! Some great suggestions but not Rich X. Next producer needs to be current otherwise they’re on the slippery slope (think Dawson/Elysium). What ever, you can bet that SP will be involved somewhere (sighs) as he’s their ‘musical director’.
