Re: Very album pics (in particular Chris' head)

It was quite annoying back in the day as I’d be wanting to stick “Go West” on the jukebox in my local pub but never did after I realised there would be 4 or 5 mins of silence before the next track..! I think you’d have been OK. It probably would have been the single version on the jukebox. No, it w...

Re: Apparent DDoS Attack on the Forum

It might be handy if there was a social media account or something where updates could be posted in the event of something similar happening again. Very good idea. Yeah, I thought that. Maybe an account that only posts when the website has issues. I must admit, I searched for one on “X”, earlier, i...

Re: Very album pics (in particular Chris' head)

Is this the first and only time they "hid" things on an album? It was a sign of the times with "hidden" tracks and other stuff on the cover or the actual physical disc. I only found out about the hidden track after buying the further listening release of Very and it was mentione...

Re: New single „Dancing star“ (digital April 3rd / CD May 3rd)

Definetely the sound of their early B-sides, I think nobody will be dissapointed about that!!! :D For sure I´m not! It really does, doesn’t it? I like the sound of this. I was listening today to Please: Further Listening (inspired by Drico’s new thread) and the last songs I heard before getting hom...

Re: Single or album version preferences

The single version of Monkey Business ends with the chorus callout, which is terrific. On the album they just fade out - which is the way to end a song when you don't know how to end it. So it's weird to not choose the single method, imo. I’m pretty sure that “Fundamental” is the only PSB album tha...

Excellent idea, Drico. Mods, can this be “pinned”? This will be an epic, evolving read over the next few months 👏

Gin and Jag
After the event

(Yes, I know they’re not from an album, but I loved these immediately and never tire of them.)

Re: Lead Singles - Commercial Comparison

Yeah, I remember Nicky Campbell on the radio after he’d played “Before” to which he said “That’s another 3 and a half minutes of Life-is-a-pop-genius there, from the Pet Shop Boys” I remember thinking “what a t***”..! I don’t get why this is a DJ diss. Did he do a funny voice? Yeah, very sarky, it ...

Re: Lead Singles - Commercial Comparison

The single version of Rent is far bouncier than the album version, which is more subtle and understated. These things are subjective, of course, but the single version was much more exciting to my 15-year-old ears at the time. And that was the thing with the Pets - they were exciting. Being boring ...

Re: Zoetrope disc

A quick question from someone who has no idea how the Album Charts work!

Does this mean (as it’s sold out) that 4000 units will contribute to the opening weeks sales figures?

Re: PSB at Royal Opera House

I hope it’s ok to ask in this thread where would be the most appropriate place to resell a couple of tickets I have to genuine fans. I’d be looking at face value +the £3 donation fee that I don’t actually remember paying but hey it was all kinda stressful at the time - finger action on alert etc. *...
