Re: New Single 'Feel'

I could cancel but I would probably lose the free postage as it was part of a three-pronged order over £35. I don't mind waiting...sort of I've just cancelled Feel and the expanded Nonetheless cd from Amazon and reordered at HMV. Same price and no extra postage even though they're sending them sepa...

Oh yes, my bad. It's a bit weird as Amazon is usually pretty reliable and I'm off on holiday this week.

Re: New Single 'Feel'

Did anyone else in the UK order from Amazon? Mine still hasn't been dispatched. Might even cancel and order from the official store. *gulp*

Yes, Roxy are definitely another startling omission.

Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless

The single version is most effective, complementing its Las Vegas twin in a double-barrelled swingbeat assault on sanctimonious rock stars. However, the elephant in the room is that if a pop group hangs around long enough then they become the thing they were once opposed to. It's no surprise they do...

Re: Comprehensive reissue campaign

Apart from the fact they literally mentioned it in Annually. It's no more niche than a pointless box set of their Disco albums. Let's face it, the fanbase buys anything including wrapping paper and jigsaws but ultimately it's their early singles that they will be remembered for most. A carefully cu...

Re: Comprehensive reissue campaign

I'd like a complete singles boxset on cd. Not that bothered about repackaging other stuff that's been repackaged a billion times before. We've been very lucky with the Price trilogy, Dreamworld and Nonetheless - it could have gone very differently after they left Parlophone. Sadly I do wonder if the...

Re: Best British group. Radio 2 vote.

Just noticed that T. Rex aren't on this list and M People are. Jesus wept. I can only assume it's because they consider Marc to be a solo performer, even though he wasn't.

Also, Slade are absent too (six number one singles). Must be like the Premier League and football starting in 1992.

25% of The Beatles were in Wings. 75% of Joy Division were in New Order.
Still different groups.

They have included both The Beatles and Wings...

Re: First album track = Single / First single?

PSB usually excel at choosing as opening number the track that best represents the soundscape and theme of the whole album. I like it that they don't always use the first single to open the album, as it's pretty much the norm in pop, but they're solid tracks anyway: Two divided by zero, One more ch...

Re: Nonetheless Expanded Edition

Kind of would have wished for an alternate cover to diferentiate it from the main edition. I find it weird that they open the bonus disc with a cover, and that the demos start at track 5. It all feels very un-PSB. Or rather like it was meant to be a 3 discs set (1 original album, 2 demos and 3 bonu...

There's a small indigenous community in the Brazilian rainforest who hasn't seen Dreamworld yet so expect it to roll on inexorably.
