Re: Neil Tennant: "Hotpost is one of our best albums!

Sometimes people listen to our songs and they remind them other songs. It doesn't happen to us. (the journalist talks about the album saying it sometimes reminds him to Fundamental and sometimes to Release). We didn't pretend to sound like them with it. I don't see the paralelism. The only one clea...

For the new generation is easier to talk about themselves, they work in a different way. Pop music has many real stories from the singers who wrote the songs.

But this song wasn't created by PSB.
Ah, so it's only self-penned songs that are over 200 bpm that can be hits?

Re: Hotspot - Forum Reactions.

Something similar we can say about Always on my Mind, according to BBC audience, the best cover of music history. It was a hit for Elvis and for PSB too. Hang on. Elvis' and Willie Nelson's versions are slower and more contemplative. Are you telling me that these were hits too? But I though...

Re: Hotspot - Forum Reactions.

Let's talk about Go West. You know this song is a cover version of Pachebel's canon. Since Jean François Pallard created its own version of the song, it was a hit. The song became very famous. When Village's People created its version, it was a hit again. When PSB created its version it was a hit a...

Re: Hotspot - Forum Reactions.

it's obvious PSB has been much better with their anthemic and uptempo songs than the downtempo ones. You can say Love comes quickly, Rent or BB are amazing tracks but they are not, these ones are tracks with good lyrics but the sound of it is not specially appealing. You're right, I'm convinced. If...

Re: 3rd single

See also “All PSB songs sound the same”. One of the guests on 6 Music said that. Yes, because just the other day I was convinced that I was listening to Kylie's new single. Turns out it was Dark Side of the Moon. How could I have been so stupid to confuse the two! That's the chamelon quality of Pin...

Re: 3rd single "Monkey Business" (Jan 2020)

It's an all-purpose term. Completely bewildered by the idea that it's cringeworthy, or that your first thought would be to make it immediately sexual, even in the context of this song. Is this a response to the perceived sexual connotations in general, or is it specifically hearing it from Neil? I ...

Re: Hotspot - Forum Reactions.

Sometimes it's difficult to find a song you can say "that's the best song from the album" but many other times you can find a general acceptance about which one is the best song. For example, it happened to It's a Sin. That's just not true. Yes, it was the obvious song to release as the lead single...

EPILOGUE: Rupert Everett went with Being Boring as well.
And chose it as his disc to save too. A very entertaining guy.
