Re: Their saddest songs

So, in summary, Pet Shop Boys have many sad songs [emoji3525] which we love [emoji4] I’ve collated them in this playlist, should you fancy a wallow: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/176eMAINzXvQN4YYWfaW2K?si=aHe3fUwsT6WlUPE0vGDV0g Thanks for this. :( 8) Can I suggest Birthday Boy if it's not...

Re: Their saddest songs

I remember finding To Speak Is A Sin incredibly moving and sad when I first heard. It's both the subject matter and those chords .. seemingly heartwarming on the surface but utterly heartbreaking underneath. A prospect of romance standing within centimetres of you but forever out of reach and doome...

Re: Miles Davis - Will O' the Wisp

I was lucky enough to see Miles twice live. I remember at the Festival Hall trying to peer under his shades from my place in the front stalls to see his eyes! The other occasion was at the Wembley Conference Centre, which without looking it up may have been the site of the old ice rink.

A friend of mine spotted Neil in London recently. The exhibition looks really interesting - think I'll book a ticket.

Re: It’s A Sin - Years & Years cover

I don't think PSB rejected to be on the stage because the design of the show was too camp. I'm straight but I'm very used to watch so many camp performances everywhere. Being Spanish, it's even more usual to see that kind of things on TV shows, adverts, series, movies from the 80's, etc. It has a b...

Re: It’s A Sin - Years & Years cover

My take away from the performance was: 'how great did that video screen look'? - Hopefully Es took the idea from the planned Dreamworld tour staging and that we have that to look forward to next year. Don't think Es Devlin is involved in the Dreamworld Tour. At least that's whatI remember reading s...

Re: It’s A Sin - Years & Years cover

There's precedent for giving the producers of recordings top line credits if they've had a substantial contribution such as Peter Rauhofer+Pet Shop Boys=The Collaboration. As someone has mentioned however on that basis Elton and Ollie would have needed to credit Stuart Price too, so it all gets real...

Patrick Bateman wrote: Fri 14 May 2021, 9:49 pm Why would they be credited on the record though? Neil doesn't sing.
The release reflected (or was identical to) the Brits performance. If the Boys had performed, they could have been named artists on the release too if it weren't for these "contractual issues"...

Re: It’s A Sin - Years & Years cover

It's the second time Elton has performed It's a Sin in public to a PSB backing track. There's was the Equality Show where he had dancers dressed as Scouts cavorting on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. It was probably his idea of harmless camp fun, but it wasn't a great Elton moment to say the least.
