Re: Best song from "Super"
I think Grower might've been a better title for the album than Super. So many of the tracks initially seem inconsequential but get their hooks into you with repeated listens.

Re: The Dictator Decides, Lyrics, etc. (SPOILERS)
I like to imagine the protagonist of Delusions of Grandeur is the father of that of The Dictator Decides. I can see the two songs bookending a family saga, where the DoG guy seizes power to get revenge on those who he perceives did him wrong, rules the country with a rod of iron and passes the power...

Re: So, the Second Super Single, then.
They don't need to release any singles. They are not a singles band. If they do, all WE - the loyal fanbase - want is the bonus tracks. So surely they should release the songs that are most likely to attract new fans? A piece of enjoyable but generic house music (Say it to me) or an 80s disco throw...

Re: Burn is quite good, isn't it?
Yes for the music, not so much for the lyrics. I think that both "Groovy" and "Burn" weren't intended as some sort of lyrical revelations to critics/listeners. They're both true-to-the-dancefloor party tunes and this time Neil decided to voice them in a more conventional way. As...

Re: So, the Second Super Single, then.
Undertow and Say it to Me leap out to me as the obvious single choices. Burn doesn't have enough to it lyrically for my taste.

Just listening to it now on iPlayer. If you think that Chrissie Hynde was singing out of time, then I'd encourage you to listen again. That was a stylistic choice, not a lack of rhythm.

Re: Blancmange yawning photo
They never claimed it to be original. They claimed that it was an accident. It could hardly be the first time that someone was caught accidentally yawning on camera. The blancmange photo might have influenced them. So might another photo or artwork that they saw. As Wayne says, there's no way to kno...

Re: World cup theme
I remember snatches of España '82 but Mexico '86 is the first World Cup where I was really paying close attention.
Anyway I just found the extended version of the BBC's theme...

Video games are just as legitimate an art form as any other. If you think that they're just for kids, then you've obviously not been paying much attention over the last 20 years or so...

Re: I can't stand 'Bolshy' because of Russia homophobia
Have you been on the internet lately? Russia is filled with buffoonery, criminality, and classlessness. It's like a giant Florida. So you're saying that in a country with a population of 140 million, none are against this buffoonery and criminality? It's just one block of uniformly horrible people?...
