Re: PSB Digital stores delivery issues

Actually, several hours after I emailed the PSB management company to complain about this situation, I received an email (just a few minutes ago) from a represented who said that he would try to obtain a replacement copy for me, but he said there were no guarantees at this point. He would do his be...

Re: Pet Shop Boys and Electronic fact/error

Greetings, It couldn't be copyrighted too. So is the drum/rythmic part-track. So, if someone wanted... they could totally rip off the drum pattern and bassline from say, Blue Monday or West-End Girls, and that's totally allowable? Retro. :) It is very borderline, that is what courts and judges are ...

They are incredibly oversized and loose fit. The prints looks like home made iron tranfers.

Re: Pet Shop Boys and Electronic fact/error

Adding a bassline to a song, interestingly, wouldn’t usually translate into a songwriting credit. That's correct. the bassline is part of the arrangement and not of the writing. To get writing credits you have to: collaborate to the harmony of the track, i.e. chord sequence collaborate to the melod...

It is odd, but 35 years can occur over five decades:

80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.
Yeah not that odd, the minimum required is 32. :)

Re: Time to get ready for

Sounds very interesting. Can’t wait to hear it! So there is a common theme/tune/melody that is repeated throughout, in different forms. Would you say the tune is memorable? Do you remember it after listening to it? Are Neils vocals sung or spoken word? I don't remember anything, except a sort of me...

New West End girls cover

For the sake of information, and to all the completists and analytics I spotted a new West End girls cover.
My Spotify radar suggested it to me.

What you're forgetting is the fanbase used to be fresh faced teenagers from the 1980's/90's with no worries or responsibilities in the world, and an air of wonder and hope. Now we're all 50-ish grumpy bastards who've had all our youthful dreams destroyed. We've earned the right to whinge. (an...

I have the original Paninaro magazine. My bigger brother was a Paninaro back in the '80s
Nothing to do with this one.

Re: Hotspot: 1 year old today

My only quibble with Hotspot is the sequencing of "You are the one" after "Will-o-the-wisp". On first listen it was just a massive let down. Wedding in Berlin is a great closing track. I really like it. I agree @ 98%. YATO should be track 3 or 4. WIB is a good & funny closin...

Re: Hotspot: 1 year old today

It's a Pet Shop Boys album, so by definition it is great. Thematically, it's very coherent, but it subsides a bit towards the end for me. It shares a lot in common with Super. One was about getting out of your head, the other about just getting out. Funnily enough, while I think Electric is one of ...

Re: Hotspot: 1 year old today

I always get the sense, that, whatever their initial intentions when the recording process for a new album starts, their instincts kick in, softening the edges of whatever the 'manifesto' for an album was, usually for the better. Hence if you 'love' one PSB album, you're likely to at least 'enjoy' ...
