Re: “Relentless” & the KLF

Greetings, We can just imagine what could be happened... maybe Forever in love is the single they were thinking about... wasn’t it planned as a single in 1992? I have to check the Very reissue booklet. No. "Forever (In Love)" was intended to be the b-side of the cancelled 1992 Mark Stent p...

Re: Frustration, they don't come to Melbourne Australia

Greetings, Everything is more expensive now, and doing business in Australia is no exception. I could detail some of the causes behind that, but it would risk getting too controversial and political... suffice to say, if you have any knowledge of economics, you can probably work out what has changed...

Re: Somewhere DVD

Greetings, On a semi-separate note, I never bought Cubism back in the day. It's the only tour video/DVD I've never seen. Any good? Yes. It's one of my favourite ones. It captures the essence of their 21st century tours, before they became a bit predictable and formulaic. No audio problems, from memo...

Re: Singles missing from SMASH

Greetings, You could sit about talking about miscellaneous releases until the cows come home, but how many of these hypothetical inclusions would actually improve the listening experience of the compilation? The only ones I think would have added to the quality of Smash (and could certainly have bee...

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Starter Pack

Greetings, If I was going to do a 12-song compilation for a friend, it would look like this... 1. West-End Girls 2. Opportunities 3. What Have I Done To Deserve This? 4. Always On My Mind 5. Left To My Own Devices 6. So Hard 7. Being Boring 8. Can You Forgive Her? 9. Go West 10. Minimal (album versi...

Re: The Guardian ranks Pet Shop Boys’ "30 greatest songs"

Greetings,

An interesting read, but any list that ranks "The Truck Driver And His Mate" over "Can You Forgive Her?" needs to take a good hard look at itself.

Re: Lost

Greetings, Finally taken a listen today. It's pleasant enough. If these songs appeared as unreleased demos on a Further Listening disc, I'd be impressed. Nothing particularly memorable, or life changing, but decent songs nonetheless and I appreciate that we have them. The only real downsides for me ...

Re: Smash - The Singles 1985 - 2020

Greetings,

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but do we know what Blu-ray regions the 3CD/2Blu-ray release is coming out on? I'm hoping for Region 4 (Australia) or region-free. I don't want to fork out money for something only for it not to work. Cheers.

Re: Smash - The Singles 1985 - 2020

Greetings, Not a fan of the blurred/vertigo style artwork, and I'd rather the CD edition extend to four CDs and be a bit more comprehensive... you know the ones that are missing as well as I do. That said, given how pricey Discography is on vinyl nowadays, I think I'll get the vinyl edition in lieu ...

Re: Capturing the light of down - shanti

Greetings,

Not that you can copyright a bassline apparently, but I reckon that if only the chords were nicked, it would be a much more subtle rip off.

It's quite an obvious addition to the topic, but Cicero warrants a mention.

Oh, and the Pound Shop Boys of course.

Re-releasing old singles?

Greetings, I notice that some artists are releasing old singles in either digital formats (e.g. Madonna) or pressing remastered versions of the original era 12" singles (e.g. New Order). Do you expect Pet Shop Boys to do likewise? And if they do it, do you expect them to just recreate the earli...
