Seasons Change by Expose and Father Figure by George Michael.

Neil's voice doesn't sound quite right though
🤔
Haven't you heard? His voice has changed, a long-term cold, apparently, or a bad dose of COVID.

I'd still take this over Winner, mind.

Re: New single „Dancing star“ (digital April 3rd / CD May 3rd)

For what it's worth, Dancing star is up to number 20 from number 701 on the official UK Radio Airplay chart. It's managed this on 73 plays - but as many of those were on BBC Radio, the reach is considered high at 18.1. For comparison, some of the tracks around it on the chart were played 2,000 times...

Re: Neil and Johnny Marr -live

Well, I appear to be in the minority here - which is fair enough. I don't think many of their recent cover versions are much cop compared to the earlier ones, but I do think their original material today is often every bit as good as it ever was. So, in that sense, I think I'd prefer if they didn't ...

Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless

Great, Rashomon! I think sometimes it's easy to forget how much of an impact the Dusty duet had. I was 15 when it came out, and I remember my parents being intrigued at the reappearance of the '60s icon on a record with the two mischievous '80s trouble-makers who had spectacularly skewed Catholicism...

Re: Nonetheless in the press (previews, interviews, etc)

Thanks for that. Simon Price didn't have much to work with, space-wise, in that, yet he crammed in loads of detail and the apposite observation about Tennant's emotional intelligence and empathy. His Chart Music podcast contributions are highly entertaining.

Re: Which Nonetheless single do you prefer?

I love both tracks. Loneliness is magnificent in its full glory, sweeping ominously across the psychological wreckage of a dysfunctional relationship. Dancing star, by contrast, is joyous. As I get older, I tend to prefer my PSB "up". I loved Electric and Super. I adore Will-o-the-wisp. So...

Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless

Up there with Being Boring as the best album opener for me. That's an interesting topic in itself. I'd probably plump for Two divided by zero for reasons already given in this thread - not because it is anything like the best song that opens an album, but because it signposts an entire journey of 4...

I've asked TheGardner to look into it. He's our resident tech guru. It's a new introduction, so maybe there are teething problems.

Re: I wish this forum had Like buttons

Thanks Drico! Fun fact – I actually do see that icon/button in the posts pf this thread, but not in that other thread. In fact, it seems like it is visible to me in the threads here in the Administration -> Support sub-forum but not in the other sub-forums. Very strange - but the info is useful. Ca...

Re: I wish this forum had Like buttons

Does the thank you button appear for all posters, Steffen? Towa on the main forum doesn't seem to have this button. Is there some restriction on whether it appears?

Cheers.

Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless

Screenshot 2024-04-13 105324.png Ah! I don't have that,as you can see in the screenshot in my previous post. Probably a user privilege issue then! I'm not sure, actually. Lots of posters seem to have this ability. Maybe it's something to do with post count or something. I'll ask TheGardner and see ...
