Re: Fan Club Releases

No interest here. They are a synth act. Live recordings are rockist, as far as I’m concerned. Even when accompanied by an orchestra - which seems to bring some to paroxysms of ecstasy - they are a synth act with notions. Fundamentally, they are a studio band. The live schtick they have cultivated so...

Electric...energy.

Vitality not seen since their heyday.

Re: New Annually - April 2nd 2018.

Shock horror! I’ve even got a Blu-ray recorder. Oh, the humanity. Bluray is a rather good archive medium, and while it is definitely a mature technology, not everything that people want to archive is available via streaming services. And there’s no guarantee that those streaming services will...

Re: This is breaking my heart

That's one reason why Performance can never be bettered. It was a "moment" or "event" in one's life.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the Super show I saw - and every PSB tour I've seen over the years - but when you're 19, trivial things seem to mean so much more.

Re: This is breaking my heart

I had those videos as well, but other than the sentimental value, most have been superseded by DVD. I don't really see the point of Television, Showbusiness, Promotion, or Various in a world of PopArt. I am pleased that Performance made it to DVD. Highlights was a pretty poor value video - as indee...

So have the PSBs released anything good since 2001? I'm not being sarcastic, I genuinely don't know.

Their fanbase will have died off by 2020.

Billie Trix, Turing, reissued reissues and rehashed tours? Snorefest.

Re: Billie Trix - a show

None of their side projects qualify for greatness. They are interesting artistic endeavours, I’m sure, but pale in comparison to their greatest songs. Their versatility is not why I love them. I love them for their great songs, few of which are to be found on any of their Richard Niles-related colla...

Re: Billie Trix - a show

Let's hope it doesn't mean they gave up on Turing. Oh, I hope they give up on that too. I’ve little interest in their vanity projects. None of them are as compelling as their best pop records. Stick to the knitting is my advice. Concentrate on the stuff they are truly great at. Pop please. Drico.

Re: Billie Trix - a show

Because Closer to Heaven was just so good it demanded a spin-off. Super is two years old now and the Inner Sanctum tour is back from the dead, defrosted for one more summer circuit. Throw in the recent and upcoming reissues of reissues, and I must admit I'm quite bored by Pet Shop Boys at the moment...

Savile, DLT in the Yewtree camp. (Jonathon King never presented TOTP iirc) Mike Smith because he never signed th contract extension. Shame but I’m sure if some intern sat down in th editing machine for five mins they could edit out the presenter bit. King presented the 1985 Christmas special. He al...

Well, without even looking at the options, there can be only one winner.

I'm not sure why we needed the text of an article we can read in the link transcribed with such brutal efficiency.
