Re: 2018:

On a separate note, if they wanted to drop a surprise release at some point this year - Disco 5 / mini-album / EP - they wouldn’t trail it at the end of 2017. That's true. To be fair to them, they've been pretty good at dropping stuff randomly in recent years. The Super album news - and The Pop Kid...

Re: 2018: "...Chris & Neil will be writing songs for a new album"

1992 was also painful because it was a year of Erasure, the KLF, and the Shamen. Each to their own, but I still think the KLF were (are) superb. Chill Out is the great grandaddy of the ambient genre as just one example. It seems like I gave you the impression I thought otherwise. Not my intention. ...

Re: Marriage: Neil Tennant and Mark Farrow discuss the imagery of Pet Shop Boys

Yeah, it's all gone a bit retro, hasn't it? Between the reissues, the Super tour retread, and under-the-radar musical happenings in the US, there's a lot of looking back going on at the moment. I think the event above is an interesting one for fans, the tour was marvellous when I saw it back in 2016...

Disappointed was glorious, though, and their production jobs on Love is Everywhere and The Crying Game kept the flames flickering.

Re: 2018: "...Chris & Neil will be writing songs for a new album"

Touring is meaningless to the people who do not get to see the shows - which is most people. Recording is merely part of a process that will only have meaning when the output, i.e., the record, comes out. So, yeah, if you're not seeing them live in 2018, or co-producing their album, I'd say 2018 wil...

This previous year (2016) I created a Top 50 of the very best Christmas videos (according to me). I sent the links to my relatives by phone (bit to bit). According to them, it was very enjoyble.
You have very polite relatives, nickname. I'd have had you blocked and possibly disinherited.

Re: 2018: "...Chris & Neil will be writing songs for a new album"

I really think a one-off standalone single would go down very well in 2018... Looking at the message above, it seems as if 2018 could be another 1992 or 1998. It's funny how those years stick out. In their first decade and a half they were active almost every year. As a result, 1989 almost felt like...

Re: Merry Christmas 2017

I second that emotion. And merry Christmas to you too, Steve. Your Christmas message has assumed all the tradition of the Queen's speech, becoming a Community Urbi et Orbi, so to speak, but without the clipped vowels, tax avoidance, and lurking abuse scandals. Have a good one.

Re: The Catalogue Interviews - Harold Faltermeyer answers questions from forum members

I think that life is very short...and it certainly is with Neil being 64 years old next year... To me, Neil has been "old" since I learned the bitter truth that he was 36 instead of 31 around the time of the Literally book. I think they had a thing going about their ages in the early years where th...

Wham end at number 3. The Great Satan gets the Christmas number 1.

Re: The Catalogue Interviews - Harold Faltermeyer answers questions from forum members

And just to be the party pooper, can I be the first to say that I hate the idea of PSB working with Faltermayer again. Behaviour is probably the PSB album I hold most dearly. To me, it's iconography of my youth. But that was then. Going back in some vain hope of recapturing something intangible tha...
