Re: The triology and its nfluence on tours (lazers and more lazers)

We already had the square blocks -theme during the Pandemonium tour, Super tour plays with round shapes, time for triangles next I think.

I saw the gig last night, literally at night. It started at 23:30. The Northern latitudes are challenging for their laser -heavy shows, because the sun barely sets. There have been postponements and last moment changes to indoor venues since the beginning of the Electric tour.

Just 15 minutes ago.

Neil is wearing the chequered black shirt, Chris is on the right with the luggage.

Apparently they took the same train from Vaasa to Helsinki as I did. It was a 4-hour journey.

Re: Further Listening Demos

Radiophonic (demo) is awesome. Currently I feel it might be even better than the album version. More airy, more trancey. Can anyone hear what is the bit that's whispered in the chorus before the "Radiophonic.. I think I'm in love" -bit? "Radiophonic... something something?"

Re: Saint Etienne's PSB references...

I also like Saint Etienne, and the previous album was awesome. "Over the Border" gives me chills. I saw them live here in Helsinki a couple of years ago, at the Flow festival.

Re: Poll ends soon on your favorite "character" in a PSB song

Even though it probably isn't so, the guy in Opportunities, Single and Gin & Jag could be the same person. He aims to make lot's of money in the 80's, and by mid 90's he's actually succeeded. In Gin & Jag he looks back at his 90's days, telling "you should've seen me then".

Re: Pet Shop Boys on Youtube

There's a bit in "Howard Goodall's How Music Works" -series where he shows how Pachelbel's Canon in D has been used in pop music including Go West:

Re: 2017: "New Batch" of reissued & remastered albums w/ Further Listening albums

I like the Try It -demo (or Peel version) better than the more stripped down version on Disco 3. I'd love to have it on the FL.

Re: Chris Evans radio 2 - Friday

They'd be interesting in ELO's Jeff Lynne producing the album after next (Stuart Price is definitely competing the trilogy). What?! The last ELO album was quite mediocre and ELO's recent live performances have been quite tired, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't still be a good producer. That'd mean...

Re: 20 Years of Bilingual

London also features heavily, which I always love - embankment gardens for eg. I love this: Cross a windy bridge one winter night Past Embankment Gardens enter warmth and light The thing I loved more than anything about the "Bilingual" era was the single releases. What a wonderful set of b-sides: T...

20 Years of Bilingual

Today. Bilingual is the album I have the most complicated relationship with. When it came out I had heard Se A Vida E and Before, and I had liked those singles very much (esp. the whole Before single with Truck Driver.. and Hit and Miss), but when I got the full album, it felt more inconsistent than...

Try It (John Peel version) would be the deal breaker for me. I so much prefer it to the more stripped down Disco 3 -version.

Re: Jean-Michel Jarre & Pet Shop Boys - Brick England/Electronica 2

"Working with an instrumental track by Jarre, Neil and Chris added music and lyrics to create a new song.." but with Yello it seems the process took a different route, since "Why this, Why That and Why" is a song that was originally meant to end up on Dieter Meier's solo album. According to this any...
