Re: Shep Pettibone collection

There's also 'Heart (Shep Pettibone Version)' on 'Actually Further Listening', an early version he produced (not the remix he did later).

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Covers

Thinking of PSB's own covers. Has anyone ever put together an album from what's available? what would be the best selection of 12 tracks IYO? Oh, I like the idea! There could easily be a double album of covers. :D 1. We're the Pet Shop Boys 2. Always on my mind 3. Go West 4. Losing my mind 5. Where...

Re: Shep Pettibone collection

Wouldn't surprise me if there's a Paul Oakenfold one at some point. He did some cracking mixes of alternative and pop acts in the late 80s and 90s. Surprised PSB never asked him to remix them actually.

Re: DREAMWORLD Greatest Hits Tour RESCHEDULED until 2022

I wonder when the Electric Ballroom gig will take place ?,especially with bands playing live again now Yup been wondering the same ... hoping it's this year as I'm already lined up to seeing them twice next year (Dreamworld and Unity) and could do with a bit of space between the gigs  Wonder i...

But I understand there was a (Shep Pettibone Remix) too. Does anyone know what this was released on?
I assume that's just the 'Disco Mix' under a different name?

Re: It's A Sin Sample from the Apollo 11 audio

Or could the random sample be given rationalised, retroactive meaning as representing humans' potential for technology, achievement and progress in contrast to the controlling, limiting and backwards looking religious upbringing the lyrics of the song are about...?

Or something.

Probably appropriate to add my top 10 Stephen Hague tracks 1) love comes quickly (dance mix) 2) true faith 3) love changes everything (extended mix) 4) stars (dub star) 5) she sells (banderas) 6) young offender 7) so in love 8 ) to the end 9) can you forgive her 10) 1963 The New Order or PSB 'Young...

Re: Anything?

Could be worse, it could be like the Depeche Mode albums box set that’s around £400 and contains ONE previously unreleased song! Depeche Mode have become quite the masters at re-selling fans what they already have. Didn't know this set even have the one exclusive track! What was is (and from which ...

Re: Do you think PSB need a new release before the tour?

Not really interested in the Disco albums being re-released, with or without bonus tracks. I'd love them to start re-releasing all their singles digitally and on streaming, with one "album" for each single, collecting all the various b-sides and remixes in one place - in the same way 808 S...

Sent from my SM-J410F using Tapatalk Great track. And when I looked for it online a couple of years back it wasn't on streaming servic...

Also used pretty effectively by Orbital the same year (under their Golden Girls pseudonym) in 'Kinetic':

Re: SAW Tennant & Lowe

Always on my mind is probably their closest sounding SAW track. Don't forget Phil Harding and Ian Curnow produced Always On My Mind/In My House on Introspective. They also produced I’m not scared. In my humble opinion, in the top 5 PSB tracks of all time. The song AND the production are just spot o...

Re: Interesting bits in Annually

Surprised no one's picked up on Chris's comment on page 63 yet:

"Well, I mean, we're both over 60 now - we're virtually at retirement age. I think it's all in the past really [...] We've only got a couple more years to go."

Guess it could be his usual dry sense of humour, of course...

Yeah, it's all about the lyrics on this one isn't it? It's either this or 'Your Funny Uncle' that has the most mournful lyrical content.
