Re: Final results of poll comparing PSB singles to their music videos

Regarding this week's new poll, it's worth pointing out that Pet Shop Boys have performed 'Getting Away With It', 'Disappointed', and 'Patience Of A Saint' live before with Electronic in 1991: http://www.feeleverybeat.co.uk/live/europeantour.htm . Also Wayne, I was unable to submit a comment on the ...

Re: 30 YEARS OF INTROSPECTIVE

I'm surprised they've never played the Introspective version of 'Always On My Mind/In My House' live before - it'd make a cracking encore. Hope they get around to it someday. Imagine that build-up/crescendo towards the end where the single riff comes in played live..!

Re: Complete Singles Collection Vol. 1

They've talked of a release like this for some time. I think it'd be great for many fans, but I really hope it gets a digital download release with no 'album only' tracks you can't get without buying the whole release. I already have many of the mixes on compilations and 'Further Listening' reissues...

Re: Dricography: Ranking Introspective

Fantastic album that I always find myself going back to and loving more and more each time. What always impressed me with 'Introspective' was the sound quality compared with the reverb-heavy and tinny 'Please' and 'Actually'. When I bought it on vinyl in 1988 it had a clout to it, even back then on ...

Re: Reissues project

Erm...I don't think that's a remasterers job to do - more like a complete re-mix of the tracks original stems. It's their job. Mix engineer listen to the track and he understands what the track loses. It seems that every instrument is so important and it deserves the same volume level and attention...

Re: Reissues project

What (and at what point) is the bad edit in the 'Further Listening' version(s) of the original 'Opportunities' 12"? I've never known what it is listen out for.

Re: Expectations

Dictator Decides meets Brick England type of album would mean a few sex wee's. This. Brick England is the best song from the Super era, and I've discovered a belated love for Dictator in recent weeks - great ominous plodding pace and dark chords. That's what I'd love from the new album - with one o...

Fantastic interview with Pete Gledall, highlight of the book. Really interesting to read how he sequenced the tracks for the 1989 tour.

Re: Introspective 2018 CD Remaster reviews

Did they fix the triple bit glitch on Don Juan (disco mix) at 4:52 that can be heard on the 2001 remaster? No. But I’m not sure that is a glitch, I recall someone posting that this was an intentional edit and not a mistake. Can’t recall what thread this was in. The point is, that bit is different t...

Re: Reissues project

So, have they remastered the 'I Want To Wake Up' version from the first release of 'Actually', or the alternate take used for the 2001 remaster? You can tell by comparing the vocal ad-lib at 4:21. See https://www.psb-catalogue.com/backcatpic.htm: "Neil's singing [ad lib] at 4:21 is different to the ...

Re: Reissues project

Alternate mixdowns made at the time the original album was first made - artists often make two or more final mixes of the same track, and decide which version to put on releases later. Not uncommon for the wrong mixdown to be used when old (two channel) master tapes are dug out for remastered editi...

Same as the alternate version of I Want To Wake Up on Actually 2001 remaster with different vocal ad lib at end.
Euh.. what?
