Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless

And we shouldn't forget about Haçienda 1992. That version had the highest energy for me. Never heard that version . Is it similar to XFM version..? Thank you. Not recording the hacienda gig for relesse is so regrettable A little bit, maybe with a bit more drum kicks, orchestral stabs and JJ...

Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless

A perfect pop song about love and compromise. Aside from Bobby O demo there is also XFM version from 2003 which reveals the original Hi-NRG nature of this song - check it out. And we shouldn't forget about Haçienda 1992. That version had the highest energy for me. Never heard that version ....

Re: Neil and Johnny Marr -live

I wonder if Johnny marr will feature on a PSB record again? It’s been a long time since he did and it’s always vaguely thrilling when he does .

Re: Club show at @KOKOLondon on 26th May.

In case I'm one of the lucky ones who can get a ticket for the Koko gig in London, does anyone have any experience with this venue? I just read on TripAdvisor some recent reviews from visitors that the venue do not take the safety of visitors very seriously (no bag checks or security at the entranc...

Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless

It was a ballsy move opening their difficult second album with a 12" mix and a portent of what was to come with 'Introspective'. That said, I love the 7" mix of this version of 'One More Chance' on Further Listening. Also the performance of it in the empty ballroom at the end of 'It Could...

That it's a river, not a canal is particularly galling to me as I just bought a narrow boat on the basis of hearing the lyric as a good omen!

dbaseboy wrote: Sat 06 Apr 2024, 3:53 pm Dancing star started out as a Chris track about being at the beach hence the waves on it. He even did a vocal for it originally. Would love to hear that demo version.

Did he ?? Where did you hear that ? If true then yes, so would I like to hear the demo !

Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless

Wow! I’m surprised that few people don’t like Jack the Lad.😲 One of my all-time favorite PSB B-sides ever. I love the piano riff, the orchestral stabs, lyrics, vocals… I guess everything.😃 I agree- it was one of the songs that cemented my love for PSB. It's so elegiac and soaring, that piano motif ...

Re: B sides of Dancing Star thread

Rotfl…. not one Trump voter is listening to an obscure PSB b-side from 2024. Be real. Sense of Time is amazing. It should be on the album. It should be the single. I am..! Be real. And he’s coming for Biden. Jesus is a rather complex and lovely song. No chorus particularly but had a strong backbone...

Re: New single „Dancing star“ (digital April 3rd / CD May 3rd)

Fo some reason my itunes download has missed A sense of time from the EP that it has also called Nonetheless rather than Dancing Star EP. So not heard it yet. I have to say I'm getting I don't wanna vibes from it along with that incensed Neil from A man could get arrested and that's my impression. I...

Re: Nonetheless in the press (previews, interviews, etc)

Cheers for posting Nickname and the translation Dog! It feels weird to me when they reference the pandemic when discussing this album. It was four years ago the world went into lockdown and makes it seem like this album is already out of date! [emoji2957] The world is still reeling from the lockdow...

Re: New album Nonetheless

Since they’re back on Parlo I’ll only believe in a third single when I’ve got it „in my hands“. m+ Hopefully with Parlophone back there's been somebody in charge of quality control so that we don't get another Wedding in Berlin. Wedding In Berlin was originally a wedding gift to good friends and so...
