Re: Missed opportunities

I think "Why don't we live together?" could have been a hit in USA. It wasn't a single and it was a missed opportunity. But the main one was they should have had the single version of "Suburbia" (with the the intro from the video) for second single after "West End Girls"...

Re: The inevitable post-Nonetheless album tier list thread

Untouchable: Introspective (Left to my Own Devices, Domino Dancing, Always on my Mind, It's Alright, I'm Not Scared, a classic!) Actually (It's a Sin, What have I done to deserve this??, Heart, One More Chance and best ballad of all time for PSB: King Cross, amazing!) Very (Can You Forgive Her?, I w...

Re: Shep Pettibone now and then

I remember someone suggested DM on an interview that they should do something with PSB but they didn't look particulary interested on it, they suggested a remix maybe but nothing else.

Re: The Parlophone Effect

They were offered a jukebox musical when Abba‘s „Mamma Mia“ musical became a hit. They rejected it because they had no interest in doing it. Neil wanted a musical that could be so relevant and modern like West Side Story was decades ago. I'm sure if they recieve a big offer with something really go...

Re: Pet Shop Boys' Official most-streamed songs in the UK

In the UK market, my sense is that New York city boy represents / coincides with the low point in public perceptions of PSB. It felt like they had run out of ideas, and had almost become a parody of themselves. This is not really fair of course (there are good tracks on Nightlife, even if it's far ...

Re: Pet Shop Boys' Official most-streamed songs in the UK

I think there are some surprising things here, for example: - Dreamland appears like the 15 th most successful song from PSB in UK. - Love Comes Quickly and Being Boring in the Top 12. - Brick England in the Top 20. - Left to my own Devices under Love Comes Quickly and Being Boring. - Suburbia is a ...

Re:

So it is inevitable that the album will be out of the charts within a month, but that’s the way it goes for most artists these days. So apart from the one week it will re-enter the charts when the further listening is released, I do think there might be a chance of it re-entering later on in the ye...

Re: "Nonetheless" Chart Positions

@Nickname: Why are we collecting regular album chart results when they are good but decide to take the result in the physical album charts in countries where the regular chart result isn’t very good (Sweden, Italy e.g). It would make sense to stick to regular charts or at the very least include the...

New interview and quite nice, they are telling new stories (politics, royal family, etc): https://news.blogdady.com/pet-shop-boys-labour-could-do-with-an-infusion-of-idealism/ I suppose Tennant was ironic with this sentence about being "happier": --- Tennant came out by doing a cover story...

Re: Nonetheless in the press (previews, interviews, etc)

There is a thread here from Twitter, a review of someone who thinks the album is solid (8/10) but nothing to do with the old albums:
https://twitter.com/puffin_captain/stat ... 0641054777

Almost everyone has given them the same rating 7 or 8 out of 10 or 4 starts out of 5.
