PSB in ‘Blinded By The Light’

Just been to see the brilliant new film inspired by the songs of Bruce Springsteen - Blinded By The Light. The whole soundtrack is Bruce with the exception of a few 80s classics (the film is set in 1987). Imagine my surprise when the film kicks off magnificently with Its a Sin!! Blearing out of the ...

Re: Radio 2 Twitter Photo

I've seen variants of these photos before and they are a head scratcher. I believe they are around the Domino, Devices era but unless they are a rehearsal run through for one of the TOTPs performances I can't think of where they were taken.. Yeah you could be right there! They may very well be a ru...

It looks like the outfit he wore at TOTP for Heart

Could be wrong though
Definitely not Heart - Neil wore a black long sleeve shirt, Chris had his ‘ship ahoy’ outfit on!! :)

Radio 2 Twitter Photo

Does anyone know what tv show these photos are from? It looks like Top of the Pops but the clothes they are wearing don’t match any performances that I know. I have all of their TOTP performances on tape and none of them match the photo!

Any ideas anyone?

Shame none of it’s readable. Why weren’t they scanned in at a higher resolution? Would have been a great archive then!

Re: Pet Shop Boys, Literally - March 19th, 2020 release

I've preordered Literally & PSB v America! I hope it happens this time  What is the actual point in buying these books again in hardback when you (I assume) already have them? I’d only be interested if they were released digitally on the Apple Bookstore! Edit: Just looked on the Apple booksto...

Re: It Couldn't Happen Here - Review 1988

It has only been released on VHS and laserdisc. I question your Youtube searching ability if you can't find it. It's the first result if you search the words "pet shop boys it couldn't happen here" in the site. Lovely to see competitions winners from the second page of the review here. I think they...

Re: Pet Shop Boys to create music for My Beautiful Laundrette stage adaptation

Guys, this won’t be released as a Pet Shop Boys record. Hence all the references to Tennant/Lowe. This will be their next Tennant/Lowe release following Battleship Potemkin and TMIT. The artwork says ‘composers Tennant/Lowe’, the official production credits list Tennant/Lowe and the article is head...

Re: The New Album Info Thread

I wonder if they've settled on the title yet and has Farrow been summoned..? Assuming they are only sending Kobalt the finished mixes to listen to.. Why would they only be sending Kobalt the finished mixes ‘to listen to’?? Kobalt are not a record company. PSB do not require Kobalt’s approval to rel...

Re: PSB at Glastonbury !

I was watching it and almost spilt my drink. When I heard those Paninaro drums!!! Great performance. I don't think Neil's earbud was working at first, that's why he sounds a bit off. How good was Neil on human! Lovely surprise! Yeah I was watching with my wife and I had literally just said to her ‘...

Re: PSB at Glastonbury !

The Killers are my next fave band after PSB so when the sampled drums from Paninaro started I was kind of like ‘oh, that sounds like Paninaro’ then a vocoder came in and then I thought OMFG it can’t be!! It was!!! Absolutely stunning set. I don’t think I’ve ever seen/heard a more perfect Glastonbury...

Re: Cabaret: Saturday 29 on Radio 2

It started off with Francis Barber's version of "Friendly Fire". The song will feature in Muzik too. There's a disco song in it, a talk song at the end looking toward the future. Neil is thinking about putting the songs out at one time. There's talking about a return of the Turing show. Hyde park c...

MCMLXXXIX - 30 Years

Yesterday marked the 30th anniversary of my very first concert - Pet Shop Boys on tour MCMLXXXIX at Wembley Arena, London. June 19th 1989. The absolute best day of my life at the time. I was 17 years old. I wonder if we’ll ever get a proper release on DVD of this fantastic concert. If it’s not relea...
