Fantasy Setlists

#1 Post by dtraversscott »

Hey there - new post from a lurker, asking:

What would be your dream PSB concert playlist?

This is an unrealistic fantasy so you don't have to promote the most recent album or provide obligatory hits for general fans that are not die-hard petheads. Imagine a more-than-a-dream concert, which could be thematic (fan favorites, greatest hits, collaborations, etc.) that you would like to see. Assuming the average setlist is 22 songs, including encores and medleys, what songs would you pick and in what order?

Mine:
Pet Shop Boys, Obscura (rare tracks and deep cuts)
1. Leaving (PSB Freedom mix)
2. You Know Where You Went Wrong
3. Somebody Else's Business
4. I Didn't Get Where I Am Today
5. The Truck Driver and HIs Mate
6. A Certain 'Je Ne Sais Quoi'
7. Falling
8. Listening
9. One Thing Leads to Another
10. It Always Comes as a Surprise
11. Groovy
12. Call Me Old Fashioned / Bet She's Not Your Girlfriend
13. Shouting in the Evening
14. Don Juan
15. For Your Own Good
16. Transfer / It Couldn't Happen Here / The Calm Before the Storm
17. No Time for Tears
18. Sexy Northerner
19. Disappointed
20. One in a Million
(Encore)
21. Absolutely Fabulous
22. Wiedersehen
-----------------------------------------
I'm kind of shy and dry and verging on ugly.

Without looking too closely at what you've left out, I'd agree that is PERFECT. I'd ply a new life instead of Too Many People though.

The End of the World is utterly amazing and you get full marks for that as encore!!!

Great setlist and fantastic opener/closer. YGTSS is probably my fave unreleased song!
