Remix Stems

#1 Post by scousepsbfan »

If anyone's interested in remixing, the great Russian website remixpacks.ru has several stem packs of PSB songs amongst hundreds of other artists which you can download and mix very easily on a program like Audacity or MixPad. So far they have It's a sin, Minimal, Heart and How can you expect to be taken seriously? It really is good fun.

You have to unzip them twice.

Fuuuuuuuuuuu*k, this is some good stuff.

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

This isn't a file sharing forum, is it? Why not try soulseek, you can find the Home and Dry stems there...

I tried when it was first posted and It's A Sin didn't work, I just got weird nosies.

Saw the post about unzipping twice and tried again, however this time they worked fine with just one unzip. Must have had some corruption the first time around.

Wow, that "LV =M=_01.wav" file! Never thought I'd hear something like this. I'll never be able to do anything with them, but still cool to hear.

I know it isn't, but I had issues accessing the site mentioned. A past file sharing site infected my previous computer. I have shared things in PM's with various members here in the past with no drama. Oh well. Never mind..

I don't mean no harm, I know we all do it. We just shouldn't do it publicly and risk the forum being closed. And now I understand you thought it was directed at you, which it wasn't. Apologies.

Wow!! Frickin awesome. Thanks for sharing this. One of the things that stopped me remixing in the past is I could never work out how to isolate the vocals. No excuse now :-)

So I just exported the "LV = M=_01.wav" file (It's a sin) to MP3 on to my Yamaha Genos. Pretty cool playing It's a sin along with the vocals (well, as soon as you figure out its 129 BPM, and not 128 8) ), works nice experimenting with different styles (country, jazz etc). The Genos has a PSB style, and also the background sequence to it's a sin, works nicely! Fun times ahead! Let's face it, sod all else to do!!
