Agreed. No wonder so many people are still dying. 1356 in the UK yesterday.......Future Lover wrote: ↑Thu 07 Jan 2021, 6:05 pm People writing that sort of thing after this year, after some of us had family members hospitalized or dead are just careless and downright evil.

Something like this....glennjridge wrote: ↑Tue 12 Jan 2021, 12:54 am Or some sort of pay per view event where they play a set in a controlled and interesting environment with projections. no crowd and maybe make it downloadable after.

Actually this format is absolutely perfect for a mini covid performance
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUjXGNB ... =emb_title
I love the vibe. You get a mini crowd reaction, and PSB can turn on the theatrics for the camera. It's a staged performance, just more like an episode of Seinfeld rather than a stadium event.
Although probably works best for an short number of tracks
I also think this performance suits a Covid online concert. Sure they had a large audience there, but the camera work is quite intimate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftFhKMsNJLA

I remember the second life thing....I give them credit for trying something that was really new at the time...and from what I saw in that video...completely bonkers...but have any of you been in VR? even though VR is a very small niche technology, it is kinda fun to go to a place where its others from around the world and watch a show as if you are all in the room. but the tech just isnt there yet visually but I suspect 5 years on VR concerts will be quite normal
I remember that house show they did....yes that would be great! something like that, only obviously it would be just them in a studio....just them and new versions of a small set of songs. cripes sake, 5 songs. why not. a few popular ones and a couple deep tracks.

Jean-Michel Jarre did a VR concert at New Year's Eve. Was pretty fun to watch.

The JMJ concert is a good example of someone thinking outside the box. Nick Cave’s Alone at Alexandra Palace is another. Both are fantastically aligned to their brands. Sophie Ellis-Bexter’s most recent video had her performing in various small (empty) London clubs.
Something like PSB live from an empty Blackpool Tower ballroom or Tate Modern or V&A or London Eye would be fantastic, using city shots as cutaways.

The tragedy of people dying does not change the cruelty and disproportionate response of Lockdown.
In UK we have 100,000 deaths - or rather deaths recorded with 28 days of a covid test - many died of other cases but have been recorded as covid deaths 40% were a result of catching it in care homes and another 10% at least in hospitals. That leaves 50,000 in the community. In a population of 70 million. Tragic as those deaths are. they are not enough to justify throwing society and everything it brings on the fire. 12m, children are currently missing school. 12 MILLION! That is utterly immoral and a disgrace to all concerned.
You say it's evil? More hysteria. What's evil is the utterly destructive lockdown. 510,000 deaths projected as a result of lockdown. and 2 million + unemployed and a double dip recession and probably full on depression. There's the evil. The road to hell is paved by good intentions.

Please stop with the ignorance. They literally had to relax the air quality rules here in L.A. because there were too many cremations. Let that sink in.

I'd rather be unemployed than dead or debilitated, possibly passing it on to my family in the process.

Try to be kind to one another, people. Dig deep and show a little love and understanding. Some people have lost loved ones, some people have lost their livelihood, others are losing their minds. We’re all hurting.

Can anyone possibly be as stupid and callous as this implies?

Sadly, the stupidity lies with those who think you can switch society off without there being serious repercussion; far more serious than those posed by a virus with a 99.7% survival rate. Since when did the farmer lock up all the animals to protect the chickens from the fox? We are quarantine the healthy.
It’s idiots led by their emotions unable to see the brutal and utter destruction of Lockdowns that are responsible for the 510, 000 projected deaths: for the mass unemployment, the utter deterioration in mental health, depression and self-harm. the decimated economy and small businesses and subsequent loss of tax revue, for handing the big corps all the control, for the children unable to reclaim the developmental windows missed by the fallacy of home-schooling, for the demented elderly dying lonely and confused.
And the brainwashed nation spreading the needless fear into our children. The stupidity lies with those so passively accepting the government narrative. The road to hell is laid with good intentions and it is those sheep who are complicity that have blood on their hands. Find a backbone and LIVE. Do not sacrifice Living for Life. Wake up.
There will be no gigs, or pubs, or restaurants, or foreign travel while we have the social distancing BS> Venues need full capacity to break even, as do tours and pubs and restaurants.
At what point does the cost become too great..?

At what point? When you are with a responsible loved one whom can't breathe grasping for air in a disoriented hospital and there is blood everywhere and complete endless chaos...the cost is real. And your loved one takes one last breath and that is it. It's over. Never to return no matter lock down or lock up. The cost is an unnecessary death and pain for so many people. Life is hard.Tom Angel wrote: ↑Wed 27 Jan 2021, 2:25 pmNotInvisible wrote: ↑Wed 27 Jan 2021, 11:37 amCan anyone possibly be as stupid and callous as this implies?

Sorry Tom, we don't know if you believe this stuff, or if you repeat the nonsense you read elsewhere for some kind of shock reaction kick... either way, I feel sorry for you... and will just try to do all I can to avoid reading anything you write, about anything, from now on. A shame, you're a good writer, always with an interesting take on the work of PSB... but you've gone down a dark hole... don't try and take us with you. Just shut up now please. Thanks.
