Possibly an edit made by DMC? Thus not official.

Maybe an DMC Edit. But DMC also uses official mixes for their releases.

Not completely ontopic, but still relevant here. There has ben a reissue in May this year of the original 1989 album (no remaster) by Dutch label Music On CD in a Super Jewel Box.

Day After That is from the musical Kiss of the Spiderwoman (kander and ebb) and is a song about political prisoners and their fight for freedom. Of course it works equally well with those lyrics for other subjects and Lizas version works well for the fight against aids. No doubt lander and ebb and their long association with LM were more than happy for her to use it.
And you say you never believed in luck

Isn't this the third time it's been re-released now (2003 CD remaster with the DVD, a deluxe vinyl offering with a bonus 4 track 12" in the late 00s and now ANOTHER re-release!)? And yet we still wait for ITHH, MCMLXXXIX and DISCOVERY on DVD......
is is and isnt isnt

Having 2005's gorgeous "the book" reissue, I clearly see no point for me to buy this edition, sorry.
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

I bought this today at Fopp, Covent Garden. They only had one copy in. The sleevenotes are great, the song commentaries often borrowed from Wayne Studer!

Is there any noticeable improvement in sound for this new edition?

Hi,
I would like to purchase this comprehensive edition of Results but there are feedbacks from some (on Discogs) who own a copy of this that say that there are several audio issues with this:
- Track 1-6 "Twist In My Sobriety" seems to be a lot quieter than the rest of the album.
- All the Steve Hurley remixes seem to have excessive loud bass.
- Some "Don't Drop Bombs" remixes seem to sound like they're sourced from vinyl (french remixes + percappella)

Can somebody confirm any of these issues ?

I was hoping they'd re-release Results with some unreleased material from the era instead of all these remixes... :?

They sound fine, it's been remastered.
The Steve "Silk" Hurley remixes does sound a bit excessive, but so does the original U.S 12". Guess that's just the way he originally made it.

There most likely weren't any unreleased material.
