Record shops in NYC and Toronto

#1 Post by andmaste » Mon 13 Feb 2017, 4:16 pm

Hello.
Next June I'm going to visit NYC and Toronto.
Can anyone please tell me if there are any good record shops (or second hand shops) where I can find PSB records?
Thank you

Andrea

Hi there, a PSB-collecting New Yorker here! In the past I definitely would've recommended "Rebel, Rebel" but they closed this past summer :( The only one left that has a lot of PSB is "RECORD RUNNER" on Jones Street! Be sure to ask for any inventory that may be hidden in the back. Good luck!!

Ahh, back in the early 90's Toronto was a veritable hub of small downtown record stores where you could pick up PSB records. Many's the time I would find some amazing stuff there (the 12" boxset of Before was a particularly awesome find for me). I don't go to Toronto so much these days, so don't know if there are any gems to be found now (I'd love to know). As far as I am concerned you're about 25 years too late! :grumble:

RE: Toronto, I would definitely seek out Sonic Boom. It's enormous and I've found a few used PSB 12" here and there. Good luck digging!
