Forum Issues

#1 Post by York Minster »

I couldn't get into the forum for most of the day (I emailed the error message I got). I have a feeling I'm not the only one who's been having issues given the paucity of posts.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'

I've been unable to access the forum all day, and I see there have been no new posts. What's up?

if you have errors - just put them in here! It's the best to solve them from knowing whats wrong.

Seems all is currently working well for me, but will have a look on the tables of the forum database now!

Yes, Steffen seems to have sorted things out. To think of the life-affirming new threads that we've missed over the last few days...

I've made two posts, one of which has now disappeared, the other of which is still awaiting authorisation 24 hours later.

Hi Rollo,

forum software and database running proper her! Seems there's somethings wrong on your end! Please check your cookies and delete the one, which is from petshopboys-forum.com. Assume it is broken and thats the reason, why you can't login (or can't see anything on the page, after you're logged in).

@ all with login & access issues in the last couple of days:

Fixed now and you should enter the forum again from all machines! If not, just drop me a line!
The captcha error definitely is solved!

Have not been able to log in for 3 or maybe 4 days.

On login I was getting an SQL error of file not found. Errno 2 from memory.
./db..longpathname.
Some times I could browse but other times not.
Could never log in until tonight.

A bit curious as to what happened. :eh:

we had a database crash on Feb. 1st, but the forum software was able to work for most users by using the cache system. Only those who entered the forum from new machines (which empty caches) or mobiles were aware of the error and send me some alerts.
Checked the database and found two damages tables (one was the captcha answers table and the other was the config table). Was lucky enough to restore both from our backup forum, so these errno 2 errors should be gone!

I couldn't log in on my first attempt today. I had to answer a captcha question.
