No, I think it's great. Sounds a bit dated I suppose but so does most 90's dance music..it's catchy and flows well played through. It's probably the Disco album I play the most, and the only one I play all of without skipping. (I only ever play Paninaro, West End girls and Love comes quickly off Disco 1, and Here, Try It and Time on My Hands off Disco 3)
It's one thing to like Disco 2. Hey, I like West End Girls (the group) and most seem to think they're crap. But I do find it surprising that you can't understand that repetitive mixes get old for most people. The first 10 minutes of the album are ok, but somewhere around Liberate-liberate-liberate it gets truly obnoxious. It's like understanding why many PSB fans greatly dislike Erasure.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys

One of mine too! I was also surprised the 12" had a slightly different mix, which I always call the Coconut 2 remix.
What 12" are you talking about?? A different remix to the Coconut 12" included on the US CD single?????

There's two mixes I know of. There's that 12" one that's on the U.S. CD single.

The mix on the 2nd UK CD single is more of a 7 inch remix, and is just called "Coconut 1 Remix".

There may be more, but there's at least those 2.

Retro. :)

AFAIK there's just the two. It's the 12" mix which appears on Disco 2.

A different mix to the UK 'Yesterday, when I was mad (Coconut 1 remix)' - the 'Yesterday, when I was mad (Coconut 1 12" mix)' is included on the US CD single.
Been meaning to get this CD for years. I have a version of this, but on a UK 12" promo. Sounds much better on Disco 2.
You gotta have fun!

Wasn't, for some reason, the pitch altered on the Disco 2 version ?

That reason is the mixing pourpose...another of the reasons why Disco 2 is so despicable for me (and many other fans around). This pitch change is also present on other tracks of Disco 2, of course.

Hey -- thanks for reminding me of this remix! I've always loved it but haven't listened to it in ages. Can't imagine why I haven't dusted it off for so long ..
I like it here ~~ wherever it is ...

Four minutes and twenty seconds in.

I don't know what it is but the Jam and Spoon mix makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, especially when it hits 4.20 on the above version. It makes me want to cry with sadness and happiness, and OMG it's just so incredibly powerful! And no, I'm not on drugs, unless you count the massive Endorphin Inducer known also as the Pet Shop Boys!

Four minutes and twenty-six seconds in is where the magic starts on this track. I don't understand it.. they seem slightly different. Is one more recent? Why the difference? Or are the variations.. ie, remixes of the remixes of the original..? Apologies for what must be a really dumb question. ;-)
