Re: The Loving Kind - Chart Pos
It reminds me the old times when a song needed to climb to get the number one.

Except that this won't get to number one.

It's very strongly tipped to be no. 1.
I wonder if the new PSB single will top it, quality wise?

We can't compare Girls Aloud with Pet Shop Boys. Even though the song was written by them, it isn't good enough for the charts, at least in my opinion.

Re: The Loving Kind - Chart Pos
its the closest thing to sounding like a chart worthy hit song they have written in a looooong time. to me most of the stuff they have written is awesome, but I tend to know they are really not chart hit song material. the loving kind however very much is IMO.
and given that it was recorded by this girls aloud group that appears to be a big deal over there, I would think if there was ever a time the stars all lined up in favor of the PSB having written a chart topping hit it would be now.

"Love, etc" looks like it was planned to be a radio-friendly song (it's what everybody who has listened the song thinks).glennjridge wrote:its the closest thing to sounding like a chart worthy hit song they have written in a looooong time. to me most of the stuff they have written is awesome, but I tend to know they are really not chart hit song material. the loving kind however very much is IMO.

The Loving Kind isn't released as a single until 12 January. It it the album version that has been at the lower end of the top 40.

Ahhh that explains a lot, caught a bit of UK Top 40 on Sky on Christmas day and was surprised to hear them say "Girls Aloud" down to 38 or something, I thought, ooooh dear that's not so good. The Utah Saints mix is sounding pretty discotastic.Dipso wrote:The Loving Kind isn't released as a single until 12 January. It it the album version that has been at the lower end of the top 40.

Re: The Loving Kind - Chart Pos
It dropped out of the top forty today.
The morons have been buying the wrong version of Hallelujah again. Most boring top five ever....
1 Alexandra Burke Hallelujah
2 Leona Lewis Run
3 Beyonce If I Were A Boy
4 James Morrison/Nelly Furtado Broken Strings
5 Kings Of Leon Use Somebody
Seriously, what is the deal with the number one single? It's an awful abridged version of a brilliant song and she's not even fit.

I had the displeasure of being stuck in a car with the top 40 annual countdown today. Is it me or is the music secondary to Fearne Cotton talking about herself, Reggie and namedropping. There was a pretty irritating bit where she waffled on about how nice chris Martin was. Honestly if I had a quid everyone time she said "I" I could have downloaded the top 400 songs from itunes let alone the top 40
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Re: The Loving Kind - Chart Pos
Fearne Cotton is a walking talking advertisement for the merits of birth control. Whatever happened to just playing the top forty singles? I don't want to know about your 'celebrity' lifestyle, you vacuous bint. I only ever manage about fifteen minutes maximum of daytime Radio 1.....and that's a struggle.Flaffer wrote:I had the displeasure of being stuck in a car with the top 40 annual countdown today. Like someone else has said, this is just the download from the album. The single proper is released early Jan. It's got no. 1 written all over it.DazzerUKUK wrote:Strongly tipped by whom?! It peaked at number 38!Radiophonic wrote:It's very strongly tipped to be no. 1.
