One More Chance MOP131 painting

#1 Post by Pertan » Sat 10 Sep 2005, 12:18 pm

Hi there

Fore those who's intrested I just wanted to spread some information about the "rolling dice" painting
of the MOP131 one more chance 7" from 1984.

It must be the only "painted" PSB cover so far, right?

I talk to Michael Sanz (U see the name on the cover) for some weeks ago
It's Michael that painted the "rolling dice" cover. I actually contacted him because I wondered if he still had the original painting and maybe I could buy it from him. He didn't say no but next time I spoked to him he said that he wasn't allowed for the record company to give it away.. I don't know if that was the truth. But anyway. It would have been a great item to have... He said that I he could scan it and send it to me but I don't think that's any "fun" to have.

He told me that (back in 84) planet records asked him to paint the 7" sleeve for a group called The Pet shop boys. Notice the "The". He painted it on a sunny day in a park called "Galärparken" in Djurgården just near Stockholm C. He also painted a record from Mannfred Manns earthband but no more.

Now he still paint but most as a intrest, he is a designer and owns a company. He also has written some books, all about aircrafts and aerodromes which is another intrest of him.

Hope some of you liked the tiny information,

Cheers //Per

you are welcome...

btw Michael's Idea of the rolling dice was that...
a dice was to compare with a game and games can give you one more chance..

well.. i don't know

that's how he explain it...
