A-ha sounded great. I saw a bit of their performance after my mum had recorded those shows. I thought PSB would have been on a bit earlier so of course the recording came to an end before PSB came on stage. :?

No, not yet. It still has to beat:

"The ten songs game"
"The "last word" song game"
"word whomp game Part 6"
"Word Puzzle Game"
"Right, before you lot start counting to 1000 AGAIN..."
"Kylie - The official kylie thread"
"Count From 1 to 1000!!!!"
"REVEALED: What really happened on Queens Day in NL last week"

That's quite sad that for a PSB forum, the most replied to threads have nothing to do with PSB....
ahem, the last one had a close encounters with Lowe-flying objects element to it I think.

About time this topic is now in the top5..
Right as we know Live8 was to bring to our attention the plight in Africa and to add a voice at the G8 summit.
And to try and change what is going on but the people that need to change are the Leaders of these African countries.
They make a little go along way.. very Minimal but Fundamental.

Aaah, how sweet but very naive of you- Live 8 was about massaging egos and a huge publicity drive for a huge number of fading pop stars. How else was Mariah Carey ever going to have a top 3 UK single again!

Why is it that brilliant and non-egotistic ideas can only come from poor artist, indie-rock music stars etc? Why can PSB, Bono (hail the King) etc. multimillionaire musicians not have genuine compassion and power to dream? Is there something which does not allow them to be genuine and honest?
Sometimes I am just so thick,
But isn't it wonderful how quick
I always get it afterwards?

Man, Neils vocals were really bad. I was just listening to this again.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'

And that Go West version was so trite. But randomly and unexpectedly catching their West End Girls performance on a Canadian clip show is what introduced me to them. They were such an integral part of my increasing exposure to good music I'm not sure if I would have got round to them eventually, because my taste might not have developed as it did. So while their performance was bad and their motivations suspect, I'm lucky they did it.

I thought your tastes were decided by your nature? ; )

I think they are, but our nurture determines whether we fulfill the pattern or not. Either way our genes determine our life. I was born to like good music, but I could have made unknowably wrong choices and listened to nothing but the charts and radio, and possibly been frustrated without knowing why.

Yeah, but it isn't like PSB are hidden away in obscurity completely. I can see how one of my favorite albums ever, Pop Goes The World, by Men Without Hats could be missed, even by those who know the Safety Dance, because lets admit, the Safety Dance sounds like a one hit wonder. So does West End Girls, but I think over time you're bound to at least year 3 or 4 different PSB songs if you leave the house at all. What Have I Done To Desreve This gets occassional play on radio and in stores in the US and less so Always on my mind and ITs A Sin. West End Girls is a song everyone has heard in some venue at some point.
