Wonder why the live appearance on the tube was considered “fated” enough to not release Tonight is forever? You tube shows a perfectly acceptable appearance
is is and isnt isnt

The day before my 16th birthday. I remember going to buy it with ‘birthday money’. It’s as fresh today as I am!

To my shame, I started with a pirated cassette copy of this from a friend - played it to death, and probably didn't buy my own copy until later - possibly even after Disco came out. I suspect I bought on vinyl first too rather than cassette and later CD (I didn't have a CD player until a good while later - I owned a PSB CD BEFORE I could even play it!).

I've certainly made up for my pirating sins since.

The album still holds up today, even if it is a little dated around the edges. It storms out of the gates with 2/0 and really doesn't let go. The only time I feel it falls flat is with Violence. I've grown to like the album version, but the later remix is still my favourite of the two.

I'm kind of glad Tonight is Forever wasn't a single.

It’s A Sin wasn’t written for Please as the article states. They considered recording it for Please.

Without doubt one of the greatest debut albums from the 80s, holds a lot of good memories for me around the time I bought the album, I got my first car and this was the first album I played in it on the Radio/Cassette player.....remember them??!!

Yes, as a debut release this is top notch. Any band would be proud to have their first album be in this league.

Yes, the good old radio cassette was a must in any car I owned, and then when MP3's became a thing, and I didn't have the money for an in car CD player yet, I had a gizmo that went into the cassette player and played the MP3's or CD from my CD Walkman. 90's tech!

to me, pretty much ever song is a classic, with several
songs and singles, remixes that are their all time best.
even the slow songs are interesting.

they have never been able to repeat that with any other
album to me, since then.

introspective was amazing, but that was because it was a remix album.

very is the closest they came to matching it, but it's still not quite as good.

Introspective is not a remix album, it’s clearly a studio album, can’t see why it should be considered a remix album.

I think that the inclusion of "Always In My Mind/In My Huse" and the lenght of the songs are two points that easily can confuse people about your point...
This is not my signature.

Maybe 😊 but it’s not a remix album. Disco is a remix album. The songs where not remixed, apart from I Want a Dog, which they included because they liked it so much. All the other songs were recorded specifically for the album, and Always on my mind was rerecorded for it.
