PSB Finest moment?

#1 Post by verbow79 »

Chris mentioned that PSB's finest hour or moment was the 1997 Stonewall Equality show (not sure if he was kidding or serious)...what do you think was their finest moment? I actually tend to agree with him, they were on top form for that concert (even though it's never been released). I also have to rate the Hyde Park show up there, as it felt like they were a national treasure with the positive energy in that show.

I doubt there could be any way to sensibly and adequately measure/compare the fineness of all the great moments such a versatile and long-standing pop/art act as PSB has had in their career.

When did Chris say that?

On Geowayne site for 10-26-97. “It was our greatest moment” says Chris. “Our finest hour”.

In the interviews for Very Further.... he says that turning Go West into a football anthem, is their greatest achievement.

A blues would be in B flat, pain defining wisdom,
but the soul is in the high hat, programmed in the system.

But that doesn't say when he said it. It could be right after the show back in 1997. It could be much later.

If he said it in 1997, I doubt he would still be of that view these days :D

I suspect Chris' tongue was firmly in his cheek when he said that.

For me, it’s the Glasto performance in 2010. It was epic. It made many of my friends say things like “OK...they’re actually very good.”

Riding the wave of the Brits exposure from a year before, they absolutely blew it out of the water.

Yes, the Performance Tour is a firm fan favourite and the crowd in Rio ‘94 were bouncing but this was in front of a sea of people who didn’t necessarily go to the festival to see our heroes and they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy it which, for me, makes it even more epic and impressive.
More strobes and BANGING, please!

I would have to say the Brit Awards in 2009 have to be up there.

Not only were they conferred the highest honor in their industry, but their acceptance performance was absolutely legendary.

To this day, people refer newbies to the YouTube video as a one-stop showcase for the breadth of their glory and their impact on modern musicians.
