No, it wasn’t. All the Introspective tracks had 7” edits made, for US radio. For example, here is I’m not scared edited:

And It’s alright:

A blues would be in B flat, pain defining wisdom,
but the soul is in the high hat, programmed in the system.

I think this is actually the official I want a dog one:

The first post is most likely a fan edit.

Also interesting: The whole album with those edits - so basically an Introspective-EP.

Fleshed out with Don Juan, I get excited and One of the crowd, this could've been the US release of the LP... perhaps it would've fared better.

- The sound of the Atom Splitting
- I get excited (full version)
- Always on my Mind (12 "extended version)
- I'm not Scared (Introspective version)
- Domino Dancing (Introspective version)
- I Want a Dog
- It's Alright (single version)
- Left to my own Devices (Introspective version)
Much better.

TSOTAS is divisive. Personally I'm a fan of it because its so f'ing mental, but I dont think it would have fared well on an album as an opener. It's quite an oddity.Nickname wrote: ↑Sun 21 Feb 2021, 12:34 am- The sound of the Atom Splitting

Greetings,
And as great as I Get Excited is, it has the sound palette of Actually, not Introspective.
Metta,
Paul.
Good summary... and honestly, there isn't anything I'd change about Introspective.

I'm not talking about my preferences but about what would've made more impact on the US market.retrofuturist wrote: ↑Sun 21 Feb 2021, 2:24 am Greetings,

My version of Introspective would've been a double album with the following additions:
I get excited (full version)
One of the crowd
Don Juan
If there was love (Neil version)
Occupy your mind (Neil version)

Do those last two exist?

At least as demos, I guess?
