All wiped out by Facebook.
Garbage. FB doesn't come close to what a forum can do, important threads disappearing down the page rapidly for a start whilst sados post pictures of cakes and fluffy kittens in an attempt to appear relevant. Biggest over hyped pile of dog do-do ever. Social Media at the lowest common denominator Daily Sport level.
And at the end/ Your funny Uncle staring / At all your friends / With military bearing

Agreed too. Three of my favourite band forums went down the pan supposedly because of social media. I think it was just an excuse to give up.
If I thought what you’d think I wouldn’t even be here.

Plus one. FB etc. are for transient blabbing to satisfy the need to blab just for the sake of it. Forums are for structured discussions and information sharing which is always there handy, and can be continued however many years later.

That said, I think this is a very good occasion to show our appreciation to those who keep this place up and running for decades:
  • There are no even any ads here. They pay for the hosting. They run it on pure enthusiasm and do not monetize;
  • They do the unpleasant job of going through all the vexatious complaints from jerks who poop simply because they can't stand it when other members hold views not matching theirs;
  • They bear the risk of getting into a legal trouble if something unlawful gets posted and not weeded out in time;
  • They try to keep this place organised by moving threads/posts where they belong. All with unprecedented faith, tolerance, patience and impartiality.
Thank you guys! :up:

At this point, I can tell this is going to be a parallel form of communication to the forum, and I'm cool with that. It gets very lively at times, which I'm really happy about!

Many thanks from me too (for keeping our Forum still going!). :up: :D I re-joined Facebook a little while ago and still often wonder why I actually go on it! I like tattoos and piercings as well as P.S.B's and I have had to come off the tattoo pages as they now look like dodgy porn sites! I am certainly not a prude but, I don't want to see it! :shock:

Yeah, what is it about the soft porn on Facebook these days?

The video channels are these ridiculously badly acted prank videos of women with T,T&A, and 75% of my "Friend" suggestions are total strangers posting risque photos of themselves presumably to promote an actual full on porn site?

Even when you ask Facebook to remove these various friend suggestions they reappear.

Like you, not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't need it shoved down my throat, if you'll pardon the pun. :grumble:
